# 15 · Ramp roll

**Ten minutes · making / cause and effect.** **You need:** A firm piece of
cardboard, one book and a large toy vehicle or soft ball. An adult checks
that the ramp is low and stable. No marbles or heavy objects.

**Play:** Rest one end of the cardboard on the book. Release the toy near
the top; do not throw it. Invite the child to change the book position or
toy and watch what happens. The child may prefer to roll the toy by hand.

**Adult says:** “What do you think it will do?” “What changed when we moved
the ramp?” “Which try would you like to do again?” Guesses need not be right.

**Child chooses:** Toy, release point, whether to repeat or redesign.

**Notice:** Did they make a prediction, compare tries or notice a surprise?
Write down the action rather than a “science level.”

**Access and safety:** Work on a low table or floor, with a clear stopping
area. The child can direct an adult and feel the toy's start/end positions;
describe its motion aloud for low vision. Keep it away from stairs. No
screen is needed; a short local video is optional with family consent.
