# Author desk run-through · Foundation Design and Technologies W1–2

**Status:** author artifact/logic review on 29 September 2026; no live teacher, child, classroom, physical prototype trial or funder panel. Therefore no actual stand or carrier result, child learning gain, accessibility certification or school safety approval is claimed.

| Desk role | What I ran through | Observed in the authored resources | Honest limit and next action |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Prep teacher, Day 1 | Read the fictional product/service/environment sheet and execute the 3/4/5/7/4/2-minute script with a puppet response. | The source distinguishes a product, service prompt and environment, states each person's intended choice and provides a response move. | To evidence a *familiar actual* product/service/environment, educator inserts a school-approved real source and records what a child saw. |
| Teacher, Day 7 | Follow the safe fold/trial guide against the Day 7 script and evidence mat. | Materials/equipment, optional action, result labels and adult cue are separate. No printed result is selected. | An author desk test cannot show that physical paper stood. Teacher must observe any real making/test and apply local safety/access rules. |
| Child role, Check A | Hide key, read the new fictional LEFT / CLEAR / RIGHT source, generate two broad-paper edge ideas and justify one from the source. | The middle route is visible on the printed sheet. The key accepts varied ideas that keep its *drawn* centre clear and rejects a made-up real access claim. | Check A does not assess physical making or real passability. Public source and key are not secure. |
| Child role, Check B | Hide key, read the new circle-card/broad-paper brief, make two paper-shape proposals, name safe steps and choose STAYED/SLIPPED/NOT TRIED only from a supposed real trial. | The source and key contain no prefilled material result. A plan-only route is explicitly NOT TRIED; a slipped card is useful revision evidence. | No paper carrier was physically made in this author review; in-class result remains unknown. |
| Time-poor supporter | Find a no-cost home route for Days 1–10 and open a linear/tactile print description. | Every day offers optional scrap-paper or puppet action; no purchase, family detail, photograph or upload is requested. | Home work is optional and not equivalent to teacher observation. |
| Potential funder | Trace two official row descriptions, source hash, QCAA Prep context, rights and evidence boundaries. | The pack has exact code/row/wording, two source claims, original reuse terms, printable/linear access and a fail-closed hash receipt. | It is an introductory fortnight, not a complete subject, trialed product, certified accessibility route or QCAA endorsement. |

**Visual QA:** all eight SVG/PDF pairs rendered as single-page A4 with selectable text, strong outlines, source labels and unfilled result regions. A full-page contact sheet, both fresh check pages and a browser rendering of the vector sheets were inspected for clipped text and source-order errors. The PDF itself is untagged; its full text alternative is separate. The verifier checks exact source geometry/words, local links and hashes.

**Open operational work:** teacher-led material safety inspection, adult-prepared paper at an appropriate size, school-selected context, actual observation of any child handling/test, real local familiar-source observation, child/assistive-technology trial, and broader year progression. Preserve unsuccessful/NOT TRIED results as evidence instead of inventing success.
