# Fresh public child-facing formative checks · Days 15 and 20

These are **public formative checks, not secure exams**. Your educator reads each *new fictional* source and keeps your **first child-controlled** ideas before feedback. You can point, sign, use AAC, speak, draw, move broad paper or direct an adult. A real material result is written only after an approved safe try. You may pass on touching materials. No personal help story, real school procedure, family purchase, photo, account, upload or sharp/small tool is required.

## Check A · Day 15 · Paper Puppet Request Board

Your teacher gives the [new paper source](print/check-a-request-board.pdf). A pretend puppet may show **PLEASE POINT** or **I WILL LOOK FIRST**. A person wants a broad paper board that shows **one message at a time** to another pretend puppet. The source has no real people's words or reader test.

1. **Find a design purpose:** who is the board for? What did a person decide it should show?
2. **Two safe ideas:** draw, point to or arrange **two different broad-paper ways** to show one message while the other is covered or turned away. Do not use scissors, pins, tape or tiny parts.
3. **Choose and explain:** choose one, explain which source words make it useful to try, and tell what a real reader test would have to observe before anyone says the message was understood.

This is a paper design-idea check. No one needs to request real help, build a working board or disclose why they might say no.

## Check B · Day 20 · Paper Stop Gate

Your teacher gives the [new paper source](print/check-b-stop-gate.pdf). It shows a **large flat paper rectangle marker**, a **broad blank paper sheet**, and a paper route from **START** towards **END** on a clear tabletop. The purpose is to make a broad paper stop gate so that after **one short slow slide**, the marker stays **before END**. No design has been tried yet.

1. **Two ideas and a choice:** show two different broad-paper stop shapes or placements. Choose one for keeping the large marker before END, and explain why you want to try it.
2. **Safe steps:** say or show how to fold/place the paper and slide the large flat marker slowly on the table. An adult stays near the table edge. No throwing, lifting, small pieces, scissors, sharp tools, pins or tape.
3. **Honest result:** only if your teacher approves and you choose to try, make or direct the broad-paper gate and do one slow short tabletop slide. Mark **STOPPED** if the marker stays before END, **CROSSED** if it passes END, or **NOT TRIED** if no real test happened. Your teacher records who handled the paper. Give one next change or a later safe test question.

An unsuccessful gate is useful information, not a wrong child. A drawing alone does not prove making, safe tool/material use or a stopped marker.
