# Foundation / Queensland Prep Design and Technologies · Term 1 Weeks 5–6

This third original fortnight follows [Weeks 1–2](../weeks-01-02/README.md) and [Weeks 3–4](../weeks-03-04/README.md) with a different design brief: a **broad paper feature-view window**. Children consider how a person could help a reader focus on one mark in an invented WAVE/RING/STRIPE picture card, choose between untested window ideas, and, where school-approved, fold/place/adjust an adult-prepared large paper window. They record only what a real trial showed. A second new design task transfers the process to a broad paper pointer. This sits beside [Week 5 living-feature observation](../../../term-1/week-05-living-features.md) and [Week 6 materials inquiry](../../../term-1/week-06-materials-that-help.md); fictional marks are **not** real plants/animals, and this pack does not claim those Science outcomes.

Home options are optional paper sketches or puppet questions; no purchase, home cutting, real specimen collection, personal disclosure or upload is required.

**Observation gate:** A printed window outline, an adult-only demonstration, or an author's proposed outcome does not prove the child safely made/tested a solution. Adult preparation handles all cutting. The child may fold a broad border, position an approved window over a fictional source, and check which marks are actually visible in a supervised classroom trial; record **TARGET ONLY / EXTRA MARKS / NOT TRIED** according to what happened, and record who handled material. A plan-only route is complete thinking work with physical making **not observed**. A real familiar product/service/environment enters only through the blank school-approved source slot.

This is an introductory partial pack, not complete Foundation Technologies, a secure exam, a classroom-tested intervention, a validated physical outcome or QCAA endorsement.
