# Full paper and text equivalent for the offline copy checker

The [offline copy checker](copy-checker.html) has one task: compare a **fictional** four-entry source with a mistaken symbol copy, change any copy position, and recheck. It does not ask for or save any personal data. This full paper route reaches the **same representation and correction target** (partial AC9TDIFK02) without a screen. It does **not** evidence the child's use of a running digital system; AC9TDIFK01 remains **not observed** unless the separate school-approved actual-device gate occurs.

1. **Make the source:** read or print [Paper Maker Cart](../print/maker-cart-source.pdf): entry 1 PANEL (square inside square), entry 2 TUBE (cylinder), entry 3 PANEL, entry 4 BLOCK (rectangular solid). Symbols are **P T P B**. No real cart was counted.
2. **Objects:** put four **large safe physical tokens** in four broad numbered positions to stand for the four source entries. The tokens need not look like the props; a spoken label, tactile mark or adult reading identifies each. A drawn or on-screen token is a picture of an object, not the physical object form.
3. **Pictures:** draw or point to the matching original silhouettes in the same four positions. Use the [four-entry mat](../print/four-entry-three-way-mat.pdf), a raised outline, a large hand-drawn equivalent or adult-directed placement.
4. **Symbols:** put large P/T/P/B letter cards in order. An adult can write letters only on the child's exact direction. If alphabet decoding is not yet accessible, read the agreed symbol aloud and use tactile distinct cards.
5. **Puppet copy:** put broad letter cards **P T B B** under the source row from the [mismatch board](../print/copy-mismatch-board.pdf). Compare positions 1–4 one by one. The third position differs: source **P**, puppet **B**. Change that card to P. The corrected row **P T P B** matches all four positions. This is worked practice, not a Day 15/20 check.
6. **Feedback equivalent:** an adult says “Different at position 3” before correction and “All four positions match” after correction, only after the child has made their own comparison. To start again, return the third copy card to B. The child can point, speak, sign, use AAC or direct an adult; note what help was supplied.

If the school approves and the child actually uses the running HTML on a device, separately observe which hardware input they controlled (keyboard, switch, pointer or other accessible method), what changed on the display, which software rule checked a source against a copy, and the purpose they communicate. An adult's click, screenshot, paper model or unobserved device session is not sufficient for K01. Follow school device, data, accessibility and safeguarding policy. There is no account or upload route in the app.
