# Foundation Digital Technologies · Weeks 7–8 · Message makers

Make a tiny message board for a pretend puppet show. Can another person read the same information from your objects, pictures and symbols? What happens when two boards use different keys? Children build, test and repair a useful message, then choose whether to show it to a willing reader. No puppet performance, screen, printing or personal disclosure is required.

These ten optional **25-minute** Days 31–40 extend [earlier grouping work](../weeks-05-06/README.md) into **a reader-facing message and an explicit symbol key**. The integrated [Week 7 signs guide](../../../term-1/week-07-signs-and-safe-choices.md) and [Week 8 patterns guide](../../../term-1/week-08-patterns-we-can-share.md) retain their own HPE, Mathematics and Arts evidence. Our pretend SHOW BOARD is never an official safety sign, a real help route or proof of musical/dance performance.

## Ready in five minutes

1. Read [the fixed practice sources and key](MATERIALS.md). Draw three broad cards or use the supplied [A4 pages and exact alternatives](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md). An adult can do all physical preparation.
2. Pick today's [complete script](LESSONS.md) and offer its [three switchable response routes](LEARNER-CARDS.md). Invite a paper tabletop show, a silent puppet or an exact spoken/AAC message.
3. Keep [fresh checks](STUDENT-CHECKS.md) and the [educator key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md) closed until Days 35/40. Use [worked swaps](PRACTICE-SWAPS.md) for extra practice after any first check response.
