Read these only at their scheduled first response. They are public resources, not secure examinations. An adult may read every source and label neutrally, provide broad stable props, repeat the exact task and scribe exact child directions. **New invented source:** SHOW RING → LIFT FLAG → FINISH. A broad paper ring, a broad paper flag and a folded blank card can represent these three data items as physical props. Simple drawings of them are pictures, not the object form.

**New Card Show key:** RECTANGLE means SHOW RING. OVAL means LIFT FLAG. DIAMOND means FINISH. These are invented meanings only for this key.

1. Show or describe the source using objects and pictures. Keep its three places.
2. Make or describe its symbol message. Give a reader the matching key. Explain one correspondence.
3. Which empty category could contain information about you or something you made: **MY VOICE RECORDING**, **MY OWN DRAWING**, or **INVENTED SHOW KEY**? You may choose one own-data category without giving its value. Explain or point to what makes it about/owned by you.

**New invented source:** CLOSE CARD → OPEN CARD → SHOW SUN. Broad folded-card, open-card and paper-sun props may be used. No light, heat or real sun-viewing task is involved.

**Desk Key R:** CIRCLE means SHOW SUN. SQUARE means OPEN CARD. TRIANGLE means CLOSE CARD.

**Desk Key S:** CIRCLE means OPEN CARD. SQUARE means SHOW SUN. TRIANGLE means CLOSE CARD.

1. Show or describe the same source with objects and pictures, then make/describe its symbols under R and under S. Label the two keys.
2. What stayed the same in the message? What changed in its symbols? Show one place as evidence. Must the first place change when the key changes? Use these exact keys to decide.
3. Identify an empty category about/owned by you, **MY NAME** or **MY OWN DRAWING**, without filling it. Does reading the pretend show key itself require those personal details? Explain or use established symbols.
