# Message studio without a screen

Use [MATERIALS](../MATERIALS.md). Offer four fixed messages: A **WAVE → SHOW STAR → FINISH**, D **WAVE → SHOW MOON → FINISH**, short **SHOW STAR → FINISH**, or repeat **WAVE → WAVE → FINISH**. Offer Key 1 or Key 2; both add OVAL=SHOW MOON for this extension. Read key and message exactly. Key 1 circle=WAVE/square=STAR/triangle=FINISH; Key 2 square=WAVE/triangle=STAR/circle=FINISH.

1. Child chooses one fixed source and key, then object, picture-word or symbol display. Use broad real props for object form; the screen only shows descriptions/pictures/symbols.
2. Adult places/draws/reads only on the child's exact directions. Under Key 2, D is square → oval → circle. The meaning/order stays WAVE → SHOW MOON → FINISH.
3. A reader uses the displayed matching key; compare their actual interpretation with the source. The studio does not judge an assessment answer or expose a fresh check source.
4. Clear/reset returns to A, Key 1 and picture-word view; paper can be reset in the same way. No name, voice, image or other personal value is required. A child may rest/pass.

No digital-system use follows from paper. Complete text descriptions are a valid data decision route; record whether the physical object form was actually made and who handled it. This activity is not a puppet-performance or repeating-pattern Mathematics assessment.
