# Prepare and safe participation

Print the seven aids or use exact [text/tactile routes](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md). Bring broad paper figure cards, large blank action cards, thick pencils, tape approved by the school, three large blank moment mats and a privacy-safe observation record. The teacher can draw shapes on ordinary paper; no device, purchase or home printing is necessary. The two [fresh checks](STUDENT-CHECKS.md) are kept out of practice until Days 25 and 30. A child may choose an invented context but does not need to describe their family, feelings or local community.

**Safe opt-in enactment gate:** clear floor/table space; adult-reviewed props without sharp edges, swallowing-size pieces or blocked exits; no surprise sound, touch, filming or compulsory role-play. Ask each participant separately whether they want to act, direct a puppet, direct an adult or stay paper-only. A pass has no penalty. Partner and audience participation must also be voluntary. Check school consent, accessibility, supervision and storage rules before any live sharing. No child's name, image, voice or response belongs in the public pack.

**Evidence register:** label each response as child devised paper score, adult-directed puppet, child enactment observed, actual willing audience witnessed, authentic work encounter observed, or not yet observed. Record date, exact source, child choice, support, prompt given and next teaching move. A paper-only answer is not child performance. An imagined audience question is not an actual audience response. A fictional scene is not an authentic arts work by a named maker. Do not combine these categories into one achievement claim.

**Run order:** Days 21–24 teach, Day 25 first independent Check K; Days 26–29 teach, Day 30 first independent Check L. After each first response, use a different-context swap. Build in movement/rest and school schedule outside the optional 25-minute Drama block. Keep visual, tactile, oral and AAC options ready in every lesson.
