# Foundation / Queensland Prep HASS · Term 1 Weeks 1–2 · Days 1–10

Ten **25-minute** opening lessons about how people find, use and look after learning places, and how signs/pictures can help someone ask a question. The runnable baseline uses a clearly **fictional paper learning place**, original maps, voice cards and sign sources. A child may investigate an actual familiar place only when the educator checks access, privacy, consent and local context; no child has to disclose a home, family story, address, birthplace, celebration or personal “special place”.

Start with [complete exact fictional sources and setup](MATERIALS.md), teach the [ten timed scripts](LESSONS.md), offer one [clean learner card with three switchable routes](LEARNER-CARDS.md), and use the [twenty worked optional swaps](PRACTICE-SWAPS.md) for variety. Ten original [A4 SVG/PDF aids and full text/tactile routes](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md) make paper-first delivery possible. Days 5 and 10 have [fresh public formative checks](STUDENT-CHECKS.md) and a [separate public teacher-targeted key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md); collect first child-controlled responses before feedback. These are **not secure exams**.

The fictional baseline gives partial opportunities for **AC9HSFK03 and AC9HSFS01–S05 only**. Family origins/relationships (**K01**), family celebrations (**K02**) and local First Nations Country/Place (**K04**) are explicitly **not covered by invented content**.
