# Learner cards · choose or switch A/B/C

Every story, person and place here is fictional. You can point, speak, sign, use AAC, draw or direct an adult to mark your exact answer. You do not have to tell anyone about your family, a real celebration, home, special place or Country/Place. A/B/C are **switchable same-target routes**, not fixed learning styles. The adult can read [full linear source text](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md). Home ideas are free and optional.

## Day 31 · Invitation or event?

**Shared target:** Ask one question [Source A](print/ripple-invitation.pdf) answers and one it cannot.

- **A · Mark:** Underline “tomorrow” and draw a question bubble for what A plans; put a second bubble under UNKNOWN.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Ask what the invitation is for, then ask whether anyone came and say why A cannot answer that.
- **C · Direct:** Tell an adult to place a broad INVITATION card beside A, then leave an ACTUAL EVENT card blank.

**Home:** Invite a toy to an invented paper show, then say an invitation does not prove attendance.

## Day 32 · Sort a plan

**Shared target:** Sort what A invites, what B plans, and what is not yet reported.

- **A · Mark:** Label broad [plan](print/ripple-display-plan.pdf) regions WALL PANEL and TABLE; mark “box was present” unknown.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Say “A invited ___; B planned ___; we do not know ___.”
- **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to place large A/B/UNKNOWN headings by whole source sheets, then explain a choice.

**Home:** Invent a puppet plan for a paper display and ask which part has actually been shown.

## Day 33 · Story Day source order

**Shared target:** Put Day 1 A/B and Day 2 C into source order without inventing an outcome.

- **A · Mark:** Fill broad fields on the [source trail](print/source-sequence-mat.pdf) and leave table-box result unknown.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Narrate “Day 1 A invited and B planned; Day 2 Nia wrote ___.”
- **C · Direct:** Tell an adult to move whole A/B sheets into Day 1 and C into Day 2, then name who wrote C.

**Home:** Make up a two-day toy plan and a separate after-story note; no real event is needed.

## Day 34 · A report's limit

**Shared target:** Name one thing C reports and one planned detail it does not mention.

- **A · Mark:** Circle “two cards on wall panel” on [C](print/ripple-after-note.pdf); add UNKNOWN near the table-box plan.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Finish “Nia wrote that she saw ___; she did not say whether ___.”
- **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to place a broad REPORTED heading by the wall panel phrase and UNKNOWN by the table-box question.

**Home:** A puppet can tell one fictional observation and leave another planned detail unreported.

## Day 35 · Fresh Check A

**Shared target:** Use new [Cloud Room sources](STUDENT-CHECKS.md#check-a--day-35--cloud-room-source-trail) to order invitation/plan/report and limit a conclusion.

- **A · Mark:** Put Source 1/2 in Day 1 and Source 3 in Day 2; mark the missing table-box result.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Tell what was invited, planned, reported and still unknown, citing source numbers.
- **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to place broad source headings in time order; give your own reason for what remains unknown.

**Home:** After first responses are collected, invent a new source that would answer one missing question.

## Day 36 · Two views of a shared place

**Shared target:** Attribute [Nia and Tao's views](print/ripple-views.pdf) without claiming all visitors agree.

- **A · Mark:** Connect NIA to curved-line panel card and TAO to a preferred table card; add OTHER VIEWS UNKNOWN.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Tell what each person says matters to them, then say they speak only for themselves.
- **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to place large NIA/TAO headings by exact quotes and correct a mistaken attribution.

**Home:** Invent two toy views about a paper drawing; no personal place preference is required.

## Day 37 · Feature, view and missing maker source

**Shared target:** Separate a card feature from a speaker's view and ask a question needing a maker source.

- **A · Mark:** On [C](print/ripple-after-note.pdf), mark “curved-line”; on [D/E](print/ripple-views.pdf), link Nia's view, then draw a MAKER? bubble.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Say what Nia reported, what she preferred, and why the maker's purpose is unknown.
- **C · Direct:** Ask an adult to lay C and D side by side; direct them to leave an empty maker-source field.

**Home:** Draw any invented mark and ask a toy why its maker chose it; do not assign cultural meaning.

## Day 38 · A proposal is not a result

**Shared target:** Suggest one fictional care idea from a speaker's view and identify an unshown outcome.

- **A · Mark:** Fill [care mat](print/place-care-mat.pdf): TAO view, possible table-card idea, result UNKNOWN.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Finish “Tao would prefer ___; we could consider ___; we have not checked ___.”
- **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to place broad VIEW / IDEA / RESULT UNKNOWN headings beside E, then cite E.

**Home:** Suggest a paper-only change to a toy room, then ask how someone would know it helped.

## Day 39 · Sourced place story

**Shared target:** Tell one invitation/plan, one report, one view and an unknown with source labels.

- **A · Mark:** Use the [trail](print/source-sequence-mat.pdf) to draw a three-source picture sequence and mark UNKNOWN.
- **B · Say/AAC:** Narrate “A planned ___; C reports ___; E says ___; we do not know ___.”
- **C · Direct:** Tell an adult where to place whole A/C/E pages; dictate one source-labelled sentence for each.

**Home:** Optional carer route: invent a paper-card story together. No family event, photo or interview is required.

## Day 40 · Fresh Check B

**Shared target:** Use new [Quiet Card Nook sources](STUDENT-CHECKS.md#check-b--day-40--quiet-card-nook) to sort, attribute, choose a careful message and name a missing check.

- **A · Mark:** Circle the drawn features, underline the plan, link Umi/Dex and put added-box result under UNKNOWN.
- **B · Say/AAC:** State what each of four sources says and why “could add” does not show a box was added.
- **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to sort broad SOURCE 1–4 headings, then give your own source-bound care message.

**Home:** After first responses, invent one more fictional speaker whose view might differ.
