You never have to tell family names, origins, carers, identity, home or culture. “Leave it”, close, switch or pass is fine. A/B/C are switchable options, **not fixed learning styles**. Point, speak/sign/AAC, draw or direct adult; use broad flat/raised or exact no-touch reading across options. Adults keep source/date/scope notes; children make one small connection/box/story action. Check days use neutral support on new fictional sources before any feedback; extra time/unfinished parts recorded honestly. ## Day 61 · Connection circles **Shared target:** Ask about a source-backed family connection and represent one link; P fiction or approved private R. - **A · Mark/direct:** Choose/direct two circles and one exact relation word/line; point to the supplied source cue and ask one small connection question. Close a private field or choose P freely. - **B · Say/sign/AAC:** Hear one exact source sentence; ask one connection question and tell/sign/AAC the stated link. Scribe writes only your words. - **C · No-touch/direct:** Use broad raised circles or no-touch description; direct adult to join only the source-named people and add your question. **Home:** Invent two toy people and a stated connection; no real-family talk needed. ## Day 62 · Born and grew up boxes **Shared target:** Put source-born/raised words in their separate boxes; one box now is enough. - **A · Mark/direct:** Place/draw one exact broad cue in BORN or GREW UP; add the other if known/ready, or leave/close it. - **B · Say/sign/AAC:** Hear one sentence, say/sign/AAC which box it fits and why; a missing/private place can stay blank. - **C · No-touch/direct:** Use large raised/flat boxes or no-touch reading; direct adult placement using the exact source, not a guessed address. **Home:** Give a toy two made-up place cards; do not copy a private location. ## Day 63 · A source voice **Shared target:** Attach one source cue to a detail; offer a bounded view if chosen or a gap/question. - **A · Mark/direct:** Put source cue beside person/place detail; point to one supported fact and optional view/question, no feelings guessed. - **B · Say/sign/AAC:** Hear P A/B or approved R phrase; tell/sign/AAC one detail and whose words, with optional own bounded view/question. - **C · No-touch/direct:** Direct adult to put one source token beside the matching circle/box; exact no-touch reading works without handling. **Home:** Let one toy supply a note; ask whose words it gives. ## Day 64 · Keep, change or close **Shared target:** Make one respectful source-check choice, tell a supported detail and ask/leave a question. - **A · Mark/direct:** Choose keep/change/close card, fix one mismatch from source or leave a private field shut; add a small question if wanted. - **B · Say/sign/AAC:** Say/sign/AAC one supported detail and “Would they like to tell us?” or choose to leave it. No real interview required. - **C · No-touch/direct:** Direct adult to keep/correct/close one broad field; hear exact source without touch and direct a question or leave it. **Home:** Ask a toy a made-up question and let it pass. ## Day 65 · Fresh Check A **Shared target:** Use [Harbor album sources](STUDENT-CHECKS.md#check-a--day-65--harbor-album) to sort stated people/place facts and a speaker's own view. - **A · Mark:** Use broad blank fields for both stated relationships, named birth/growing-place words, the note's speaker and one unanswered question; mark the source number for each. - **B · Say/AAC:** Answer each Check A question in your own words, name a source for the stated facts and leave an unstated detail open. - **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to sort whole source sections into RELATION, BORN, GREW UP, SPEAKER and NOT GIVEN fields; point to your evidence and one missing answer. **Home:** After first check response, invent a different note from a toy character. ## Day 66 · Drawn place features **Shared target:** Locate three shapes on [C](print/page-nook-sketch.pdf) and ask what an imagined map cannot say about a real place. - **A · Mark:** Trace shelf left, rug centre and table right; add a REAL PLACE? bubble. - **B · Say/AAC:** Describe the three positions and why a paper model is not a real visit. - **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to draw broad shelf, oval and table outlines in matching positions and add a question the made-up drawing cannot answer about a real place. **Home:** Make a paper toy nook with three shapes; do not claim it is a real room. ## Day 67 · Special to one speaker **Shared target:** Attribute [Jules and Emi's views](print/page-nook-views.pdf) to the right person and pictured feature. - **A · Mark:** Link Jules to the oval rug and Emi to the low table; add OTHER VIEWS? outside the two quotes. - **B · Say/AAC:** Finish “Jules finds it special because ___; Emi would rather ___.” - **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to place two broad speaker headings by exact words without adding anyone else's view. **Home:** Give two puppets different made-up views of a paper nook. ## Day 68 · An idea needs a check **Shared target:** Cite one view and ask a conditional care question without claiming a real improvement. - **A · Mark:** Fill the [place mat](print/place-source-mat.pdf) with Emi's view, a question and RESULT NOT SHOWN. - **B · Say/AAC:** Say “Emi would prefer ___; we could ask ___; we still do not know ___.” - **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to put Emi's exact view, your possible question and ACTUAL RESULT NOT SHOWN in separate broad fields. **Home:** Ask a toy about a paper-room change and what another toy might think. ## Day 69 · Private or pretend story strip **Shared target:** Tell one short source-based person/connection/place account; private R or complete P. - **A · Mark/direct:** Choose a flat strip/circles; point/draw/direct a person, source-backed detail and source cue, plus optional question/closed gap. - **B · Say/sign/AAC:** Tell/sign/AAC a brief P person/place/view story or R approved family detail/source/question; no length or public-sharing test. - **C · No-touch/direct:** Use broad raised pieces or no-touch source reading; direct adult to arrange/story-scribe one supported detail, then close/return if private. **Home:** Tell a wholly invented puppet connection/place story; no family interview. ## Day 70 · Fresh Check B **Shared target:** Use new [Pillar Nook sources](STUDENT-CHECKS.md#check-b--day-70--pillar-nook) to locate, attribute, question and make a bounded conclusion. - **A · Mark:** Use large blank areas to record pictured features and two speakers, circle the idea the sources actually support, and add an open real-result question. - **B · Say/AAC:** Tell where the features are, attribute each view, then explain which message the sources support and what real result remains unknown. - **C · Direct:** Direct an adult to sort drawing, two views and idea into broad fields; point to your source evidence, choose a bounded conclusion and ask what a real result would need. **Home:** After first check responses, invent a different fictional visitor view.
