# Teacher-only worked checks and next steps

Open after preserving first child-controlled responses and exact assistance. Public formative checks use fiction, not secure exams or local K03 evidence. Read/scribe/access help is available without giving the conclusion. Accept source-supported equivalences through point, voice, sign, AAC, tactile model or adult-directed placement. Record **task · exact child words/action · access source/route · model/prompt/assistance · next step** locally, without learner data in the repository. Use **observed independently / observed with support / not yet observable** for each skill; do not turn one check/pass into a fixed label or grade.

## Check A · Moss Room worked interpretation

1. Source 1 is an earlier pictorial map: diamond box beside the left circle cushion; rectangle table right. The key gives those feature names. This depicts the fictional earlier location; it does not prove an actual room's current state, material, safety, access or observed real use.
2. Keeper **Fenn**, Source 2, reports moving the box beside the table later. Child makes two representations: earlier beside cushion from 1; later reported beside table from 2. Keep 1 unchanged. Fenn's reason is not recorded; Zia's own reason cannot fill it. A report in fiction is not a real move directly observed by the learner.
3. Source 3 is **undated**. It matches the earlier depicted position, but that alone does not establish when the copy was made. It could describe/copy an earlier view; the set does not settle its date or make it an automatic lie/error/current record. Keep 3 beside/outside known-time order. “When was this copy made?” or “Who made it and from what earlier source?” are useful future-source questions.
4. **Zia**, Source 4, gives Zia's reason: laying out Zia's paper cards. One account: “Earlier map 1 shows box by cushion; later Fenn reports by table (2); after the move Zia says she found it by table and likes laying out cards (4); copy 3 has no time.” Zia's preference is neither everyone's nor Fenn's move cause. All sources remain fiction.

If a child changes A's original location, preserve the old map and revise only the child model. If they call C wrong because it differs, provide two new clearly timed drawings later and then an undated one. If a named preference becomes a universal/cause claim, separate speaker/cause/other-user pockets.

## Check B · Harbour Room worked interpretation

1. Source 1 depicts pentagon tub beside right oval mat; rectangle shelf left. **Faye**, Source 2, reports later move beside shelf. A proposed/current model based on 2 is labelled reported source, not directly observed real layout. Source 3 has the old depicted location but no time; retain its separate pocket rather than force a date.
2. **Rafi**, Source 4, says the shelf location matters for putting Rafi's pretend leaf cards there. That reports Rafi's reason and encounter. Source 2 does not state Faye's cause. Other users' views, needs and conditions are not established; do not infer identity or universal accessibility.
3. Source 5 is a **planned picture update** based on 2/4. The child may actually make/draw/direct a labelled map during the check; record that real child/adult action and assistance separately. The sources do not say the helper already finished the map, and no actual room/tub has been changed through the paper task. Plan, child model and physical-room action are different records.
4. Valid account: earlier map 1; later move report 2; after that named encounter/reason 4; copy 3 undated; helper plan 5 still proposed. A useful question: “When was 3 made?” or “Would Faye like to say why?” An approved dated maker record or willing exact keeper account might help in future. No such source has been obtained; approval/consent is required for an actual extension.

If a paper update is counted as a physical move, mark the child's artifact CHILD MODEL and keep real-room observation blank. If a future source becomes obtained evidence, add PENDING and an empty date field. Keep the first check response intact before teaching.

## Conditional K03 decisions from actual-place work

Use [the complete actual-place route and element table](../REAL-PLACE-PATHWAY.md), not the fictional check responses. Record actual approved place, child-recognised familiar connection, observed/described features/date/view, exact willing-person reason and local care procedure/explanation. A missing element is **not yet observed**; a child's pass is not inability. A correct care explanation can support how a place can be looked after, while actual care-action claims need actor/time/observation. No records were collected while authoring this pack.
