# Actual Pocket Place Trail · full educator workflow

Eight ordinary scripts integrate this route on Days 161–164/166–169, using the same 25-minute stages/source goals. No actual K03 records have been collected. No child, location or speaker data in this repository. The complete A–F paper route is available without local access, accounts, action, disclosure or permission. Keep real and invented source trails separate.

## Educator preflight · before Day 161

1. Choose a safely observable **familiar learning place** under school policy: for example an indoor window/display corner or a garden seen from an approved indoor position. Confirm child familiarity/connection/belonging through voluntary private words/established communication or existing authorised evidence. A visit alone doesn't establish belonging. Offer another approved familiar place, private response, pass or the paper route; never infer connection, preference, culture or need from identity.
2. Approve two accessible observation points/views of the same place. The child may stay seated and direct an adult's exact on-site descriptions, use approved dated images with their actual source/view or choose a no-touch reading. Name **actual date/time**, point/view/method and source for each. Direct child observation and adult description are recorded differently. Unseen/hidden areas stay unobserved. Don't move real plants/furniture/screens to make views match A/B, require a count, climb, open cupboards, touch/taste living things or approach hazards. No outside excursion is needed.
3. Select one or two recognisable features; name only what is actually observable or supplied by the permissioned source. No species, health, growth, safety or whole-environment inference. The second view may show the same details or different visibility; don't stage a difference or growth. If only one safe view exists, retain it, record the second-view gap and use A/B separately for the two-view skill. Guide sketches are limited representations, not approved site/emergency/travel maps.
4. Invite a **willing adult** familiar with the place, or choose an approved exact recorded account with owner/source ID, date, place relevance, permission and review status. Ask “What matters to you here? Why?” Record exact words/correction, actual time/speaker/source ID and scope. A second willing account is optional; ask the same questions without steering agreement/disagreement. A single genuine reason still provides a particular-person meaning opportunity; missing second view stays open. Nobody must reveal personal family/cultural history or speak for a group. A decline is not a negative score.
5. Source the actual **care procedure** from its responsible adult/document, with exact step/source/date and permitted scope. Ask “How can we look after this part here?” and “What may we make or do?” Choose a small useful task only if approved: make a feature/view/source guide for the owner's private use, place that guide in an approved holder, or return one approved shared picture page to its designated display/folder. Do not water plants, apply substances, test strength/covers, move property or pronounce an old arrangement unsafe/inaccessible. Physical care action is optional; an exact sourced care explanation can show understanding. If action isn't permitted/chosen, make the guide privately and leave actual action not done.
6. Obtain distinct permission for observation, recording/quotation, guide-making/use/audience, placement/task and any reader feedback. Default to private source IDs and no public display/photos/audio/commercial use. Follow local retention/safeguarding, correction/withdrawal and individual access arrangements. A quote licence isn't publication consent. Unexpected community-held cultural knowledge invokes [cultural-authority/ICIP gate](LOCAL-SOURCE-INSERT.md); pause collection/reuse until authorised.
7. Ready four broad blank guide panels and [actual trail record](print/actual-trail-record.pdf), plus expanded fields below. Arrange a willing private reader and responsible source check if available. Show the permitted view/task boundaries in plain words. Never pre-fill actual dates, observations, positive reasons, permissions, actions or feedback. Genuine first record can be “earlier” at a later lesson; no historic record is invented.

## Standard local trail record · keep locally

Printable prompts support a school-authorised expanded record; read one field at a time and log exact assistance.

- **Approval/place/access:** local place/source ID; educator/date; approved point(s), materials/task/audience; permitted scope and care owner; child familiarity/connection/belonging evidence or pass/open; chosen access/method.
- **View One / View Two:** separate actual date/time, point/view/method, describer/image source if relevant; exact observable feature/cue; visible/hidden/unobserved regions; child's first words/placement and help; second-point gap if needed. Don't invent movement or total from different visibility.
- **Person One / optional Person Two:** source-ID, actual time/date, exact approved words, place/feature reason, permission/correction/withdrawal; child's attributed explanation; others' perspectives open. Voluntary personal explanation may substitute without disclosure pressure; no need to interview two people to evidence one person's significance.
- **Local care:** exact procedure/source/date/responsible adult; child's first explanation of how looked after; permitted task/cue scope; guide plan and source tabs; required/received/refused approval; first draft/correction.
- **Trial/action/use:** planned, source-checked, reported, done or not done kept separate. Done stays blank unless observed; actor, actual time/action/view, exact help, local outcome and limit. A model rehearsal is not a real-place result; source check is not proof of use; a single response is not everyone.
- **Reader/tour/revision:** willing reader-ID/permission, actual point/time/action, exact response/pass, real approved edit/help and saved first version. If no reader/tour happens, record gap, not success.
- **K03 element decision:** familiar belonging/connection; features; why actual place/feature matters to a particular person; how looked after. For each record learner evidence/source/help as observed/open. Missing/withdrawn fields stay open. A completed guide/task alone doesn't meet the whole row.

## If the actual route is unavailable

Say “We can make a pretend place guide.” Use A/B source windows and broad model, C1/C2 named own reasons, D request, E explicitly reported model trial and F plan. The ordinary P steps complete the whole fortnight: build two-window guide, care/source tab, useful question, private model tour and one source-backed edit. Record only actual child-model work/help if observed; leave all ACTUAL fields blank and K03 open. Keep genuine partial local records when available, but never insert fictional views/reasons/procedures into their trail.
