# Exact fictional sources, equipment and five-minute setup

All people, places and outcomes below are **invented paper sources**. The printed signs are original lesson marks, **not official safety symbols**. A child may pass, point, sign, use AAC, speak, draw or direct an adult. No personal story, physical contact, competitive race or object lending is required. Read source wording aloud; do not pretend a character line is a real child's statement.

## Source A · Permission with a neutral class prop

[Dialogue cards](print/permission-dialogue-cards.pdf) show a teacher-owned **BIG SQUARE** card and a **BLANK CARD**. Puppet Tavi asks: “May I use the BIG SQUARE card?” Puppet Noor answers: “Not now; I am still using it.” Tavi replies: “Okay. I will choose the BLANK CARD.” A second card has Noor ask: “May I put my card on the shared board?” Tavi answers: “Yes, there is space.” Noor replies: “Thank you.” These are two **fictional rehearsals** of seeking, denying, giving and respecting permission. The source does not require an actual child to lend anything or say yes.

## Source B · Broad paper play lanes and stop space

The [original play mat](print/one-at-a-time-play-mat.pdf) has **LEFT LANE** and **RIGHT LANE**, each a large START rectangle leading to a large FINISH rectangle. A separate **PAUSE SPACE** is outside both lanes. The class rule on the source is: “One maker moves a large soft object in one lane at a time; another waits outside that lane. A stop signal ends the turn.” It is a **paper plan**, not proof anyone moved safely. For an optional actual trial, a teacher checks a stable broad table/floor route, suitable large soft object, individual movement/access plan, clear distance and stop signal. A child may stay with paper, observe or stop at any time. Adults handle setup and any hazard.

## Source C · Two fictional turn stories

[Fair-rule cards](print/fair-rule-cards.pdf) give two separate statements. **Mina**: “I waited at PAUSE SPACE until the lane was clear. Then I had one turn.” **Paz**: “I moved my paper marker into the lane while Mina's turn was still happening.” On paper, Mina's sequence follows the printed one-at-a-time rule and Paz's sequence does not. This does **not** tell us how real children would act or whether a particular movement is safe for a real child.

## Source D · A stop request changes the plan

On the [stop/choice board](print/stop-pause-choice-board.pdf), fictional Ren says: “Pause, please. I do not want to use that shared spot.” The adult in the **paper story** stops moving the marker, replies “Okay,” and offers a different blank spot. A real child's refusal needs no explanation, and a fictional adult response is not proof of real protection. For real school safety/help routes, use current local policy and the child's access plan.

## Source E · Original sign/message cards

The [paper sign bank](print/original-play-signs.pdf) has word-plus-outline cards **ONE AT A TIME**, **PAUSE SPACE**, **ASK FIRST**. A sign can remind a pretend user of a rule or question; it does not grant consent or verify safe access. The fictional visitor line is: “I want to try the paper lane. Which card tells me to ask first?” The answer from these printed words is ASK FIRST. Actual understanding and any physical result are **unknown** until observed in an approved setting.

**Five-minute setup:** choose the source page or its [full text/tactile counterpart](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md), arrange broad cards, prepare a quiet stop/opt-out route, and check local equipment/activity/access approval before offering actual movement. Keep checks covered until their days. Record date, exact child-controlled communication, access provided, adult content cues, and **actual movement observed or not observed**. Store real records privately.
