# Learner choice cards · mathematics Days 131–140

Choose a **paper model** route: story/book objects, maker objects or toy display objects. An adult reads labels. You can compare by looking, touching if you choose, hearing a neutral description, pointing, AAC, sign, speech or directing an adult to move safe pieces. Tell which two objects or which fictional set you mean. You never need to compare bodies, bags from home or real classmates. Day 135 and Day 140 cards are **after** the fresh check.

## Day 131

- **Book:** Align two broad paper bookmarks at one end. Which reaches farther from that start?
- **Maker:** Align two model bridge strips. Show the start edge you used.
- **Toy display:** Align two pretend sign strips. Does moving one above the other change its length?

## Day 132

- **Book:** Two equal page tabs begin in different places; move them to a common start.
- **Costume picture:** A broad strip and a narrow strip have equal lengths; name the attribute you checked.
- **Model stage:** Two paper beams stick out at different ends; align before making a claim.

## Day 133

- **Maker:** Two equal-sized safe trays sit on a checked balance; which loaded side goes down?
- **Book corner:** Two closed identical pouches have different safe block loads; compare mass directly.
- **Toy stage:** A paper figure chooses which prepared container feels or balances heavier; ask an adult to move it if needed.

## Day 134

- **Paper bridge:** Two supports can be equal in length yet differ in width. Tell both facts.
- **Maker containers:** A big empty box and smaller loaded box challenge a size guess. Test mass.
- **Sign strips:** Two pieces share a colour but have different lengths. Which attribute did you measure?

## Day 135 · after your check

- **Bookmarks:** Make a new pair and align its starts; state longer/same with evidence.
- **Maker trays:** Use a checked balance with two approved safe loads; say what side moved.
- **Toy display:** Give one alike and one different property for two directly compared objects.

## Day 136

- **Story board:** Sort mixed invented visitors' label-shape cards into circle, triangle, square.
- **Book corner model:** Put one fictional response per matching shape tray.
- **Maker display:** Ask what the cards represent before you sort. They are not real class votes.

## Day 137

- **Story board:** Match circle and triangle cards in pairs; show extra cards if any.
- **Book corner model:** Count each shape group once without moving a card twice.
- **Toy stage:** Spread cards apart, then decide whether spacing changed the number.

## Day 138

- **New story-board trial:** One triangle card is replaced by a square card; make a **new** display.
- **Book tab model:** Compare old and new fictional card sets on separate mats.
- **Maker model:** Say what changed in the recorded set, without saying someone changed their mind.

## Day 139

- **Bookmark edge:** Sort invented choices for smooth or raised paper edges.
- **Toy stage cue:** Sort invented choices for star, dot or bar picture cues.
- **Story board label:** Ask whether shape cards explain people's reasons. If no reason is shown, say so.

## Day 140 · after your check

- **Fresh practice:** Make a new six-card fictional label set and mix it before sorting.
- **New question:** Choose a neutral paper-object question and say who the invented answers represent.
- **Compare:** Show a pairwise relation with matching cards, then name one thing your display cannot tell.
