# Three flexible routes per day

Each route preserves its day’s **same decision target**. “Direct” may use speech, gesture, sign, agreed eye-gaze confirmation, switch or AAC. Adults describe options neutrally and move/attach pieces only on a child’s instruction. A pass or later turn is a real choice but not evidence of the target. A physical assembled work can be child-authored through directed adult fabrication; record adult help separately.

| Day | Draw / make route | Quiet fixed-card route | Exact text / tactile directed route |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 21 | Draw one CIRCLE MIDDLE start and two different ending positions. | Pick two large distinct ending cards for one fixed opening. | Hear/feel START, then direct A and B placements on a raised fork; tell how endings differ. |
| 22 | Draw two distinct route signs and connect each to chosen ending. | Pair large SQUARE/CIRCLE sign cards with fixed LEFT/RIGHT endings. | Read/feel two distinct sign outlines; direct each sign–ending match and trace it. |
| 23 | Use broad covers to reveal only the ending matching a selected sign; reset. | Point to a sign and ask adult to exchange a single covered ending card. | Hear/feel both route names, then direct adult to reveal one and cover/reset the other. |
| 24 | Arrange START, CHOOSE, REVEAL stage cards and demonstrate one path. | Select one of two broad stage-order strips and hide the unused ending. | Hear/feel three raised stage slots and direct visible/hidden state before and after selection. |
| 25 | Independently redraw fresh I with A held and a revised B endpoint. | Choose broad triangle ending cards without adult cueing. | Hear/feel START/A/B on raised fork; direct B only while naming held A. |
| 26 | Draw and assemble a child-owned start, two endings and choice signs. | Select large original cards and direct adult attachment or removable-card layout. | Direct every start, two-ending and sign decision using raised blank slots; adult fabricates neutral parts. |
| 27 | Operate own paper work through A, reset, then B and mark mismatch. | Select each broad sign while an adult opens matching covers; child judges result. | Direct adult through sign→ending twice with tactile/text cues and confirm actual versus intended outcome. |
| 28 | Replace one confusing route sign with a distinct mark; endings hold. | Swap one large sign card while keeping ending cards fixed; test both routes. | Choose two distinguishable tactile labels and direct their placement, then trace each route. |
| 29 | If choosing, show child-owned paper work to one willing person and note their actual choice. | Select share / private rehearsal / later / pass cards; ask maker question with adult support. | Use AAC/sign/voice to choose participation; direct a willing person if sharing happens; source inquiry conditional. |
| 30 | Independently redraw fresh J so each route sign reaches matching shape. | Select one replacement ending card; leave signs and other end fixed. | Hear/feel sign→ending pairs and direct one ending replacement, then trace both routes. |

For Day 29, puppet-only rehearsal/pass is not actual-audience evidence. A flat printed diagram alone is not an operable branch; an assembled board with selectable/revealable endings is. Exact text/tactile participation supports media decisions, while visual perception of a real work and physical operation by a viewer require separate evidence.
