# Educator-only answer models and next teaching

Keep this separate from [public M/N checks](../STUDENT-CHECKS.md) until the first response. A neutral adult card mover, exact text reading or raised cue is access support. Do not score paper planning as heard or produced sound.

## Fresh Check M

Start: **slot 1 TICK; slot 2 TICK** under a fixed pentagon picture. Model response: **slot 1 TICK; slot 2 QUIET**. Only the second mark becomes empty/quiet; slot 1 and the picture hold. A child who changes slot 1 to quiet gives “quiet, tick,” which is a coherent different pattern but does not meet “one tick, then quiet.” Save first response before modelling another source.

## Fresh Check N

Start: **slot 1 TICK; slot 2 QUIET** under a fixed hexagon picture. Model selection: **C “tick, quiet”**. A “tick, tick” gives two ticks; B “quiet, tick” reverses order. Accept spoken, pointed, signed or AAC selection of C with an accurate first/second explanation. This tests an exact no-audio caption choice, not hearing.
