# Three original quiet sound candidates · transcript and silent route

**Candidate only; not cleared for children.** An educator listens to every WAV from beginning to end on the *actual* classroom device, sets and tests a comfortable volume locally, checks for clicks or other artefacts, invites child choice, and may decide not to play any file. Digital peak below 6% full scale is not a sound-pressure or comfort guarantee. No headphones are required. Do not loop or amplify a file to force audibility. No child data is captured.

All WAVs are original 22,050 Hz, 16-bit mono PCM. Every event is the same generated 330 Hz sine source, 0.20 s long with a short fade at each edge, at **0.10, 0.60, 1.10 and 1.60 seconds**; the file ends at 2.40 s. The V (very soft) tone is programmed at 0.018 peak fraction of full scale; S (soft) at 0.050. These are *relative file amplitudes*. Pitch, timbre, time and duration stay fixed. Any perceived effect depends on listener, room and device. The written transcript below is the complete intended audible event sequence; there is no voice or background sound.

The no-sound route teaches and checks the **notation/planning** goal with exact event order. It does not substitute as evidence of hearing a level difference, producing one, or finding the sound comfortable. A silent route can also be used as the default for the whole class. If a child asks to stop, stop; record only their own words if relevant, never a diagnosis.
