# Private educator key, evidence and next teaching

Use after saving the first response. Both checks sample a planned three-section form. They are not a Music achievement-standard judgment, hearing test, performance observation or evidence of actual audience. A neutral adult can read symbols but cannot choose a matching card.

## Check Return 1

The **third section RETURN = H H**, an exact ordered copy of OPENING H H. The middle is L H; its **first event L** contrasts with the opening's first H, while the second H stays. Accept a child pointing rather than saying this. A paper limitation can be “we do not know if it played,” “we do not know how someone heard it,” “we do not know whether it was comfortable” or “we do not know if anyone received it.” If the child only sees that sections share an H but misses the two-mark order, reteach with a *different* pair and two fixed columns.

## Check Return 2

The final pair must be **A B**: opening A B, contrasting middle B B, exact return A B. The middle's **first source mark B** differs from opening's first A; second B holds. Accept broad round/striped cards, AAC or neutral scribe. The key is invented sound source, not a real instrument or community work. A child's own musical intention can be “the first sound recipe comes back at the end,” a fictional story idea or another child-owned explanation; no emotion word is required. A paper score does not prove timbre perception or that an audience received a performance. If final B A appears, use after-check practice with clearly paired first-to-first and second-to-second slots; retain the first response.
