# Short child prompts

Read ordinarily and neutrally. Save the learner’s first response before a solution hint; a directing prompt becomes teaching support. The learner chooses their purpose, route and whether to make sound, repeat, share or pass.

| Day | Prompt |
| --- | --- |
| 141 | “One beat. One sound, or two quick?” |
| 142 | “Keep the beat. Count its sounds.” |
| 143 | “Where is one? Where are two quick?” |
| 144 | “Opening, ending, or a piece of its own?” |
| 145 | “Which beat changes? What stays?” |
| 146 | “Try again, keep it, or stop?” |
| 147 | “Which one beat will you change?” |
| 148 | “Move the pair. Keep the same sounds.” |
| 149 | “Would you like to see/hear it? What did you notice?” |
| 150 | “Keep the first two. Check your new ending.” |
