# Thirty same-target learner routes · Days 31–40 Choose among routes for access and interest; these are not fixed learning-style groups. Pointing, speaking privately, signing, AAC, drawing, large fixed tactile pieces and directing an adult can all communicate the day's **same source-bounded target**. Label adult description **ADULT REPORT**. When a real approved source is unavailable, use MODEL ONLY as preparatory reasoning and leave the actual-observation target open. Day 35/40 routes come **after** the fresh check. ## Day 31 · Claim versus evidence - **A · annotate:** Circle the exact “always” claim on invented Model T, then write a question about one named approved practice surface; leave result NOT TESTED. - **B · tell/AAC:** Say what the poster prints, predict what might happen in a future adult wipe, and name two real-source facts missing from the drawing. - **C · tactile/read-aloud:** Hear Model T and follow its broad raised line as an invented mark; choose CLAIM / QUESTION / RESULT cards correctly, then direct an adult to write a new testable question. ## Day 32 · Plan an approved method - **A · method sort:** Put U1/U2/U3 under POSSIBLE AFTER APPROVAL / UNSAFE / PAPER ONLY; explain how source, cloth, one pass and date would be logged. - **B · private plan:** Tell adult why a real safety sign and spray cleaner are excluded; predict for a named broad approved practice sample, with actual result blank. - **C · large sequence:** Arrange secured SOURCE / DRY MARK / ADULT WIPE / OBSERVE cards on a stable table without handling ink; name one condition to keep alike. ## Day 33 · One actual try - **A · log/direct view:** See the approved adult-controlled wipe and mark exact before/after on a dated log; compare with your pre-wipe prediction. - **B · speak/AAC:** Give source/date and what you directly noticed or what adult reported; choose unchanged/lighter/gone/smeared/other/cannot tell without a universal claim. - **C · no-touch report:** Direct adult to perform the approved try, hear neutral ADULT REPORT and select a broad after-mark label; do not relabel that report direct sight. ## Day 34 · Two surfaces, bounded comparison - **A · side-by-side:** Put actual A/B dated logs together only if both exist; note result and any different coating/ink drying time/cloth action. - **B · explain:** Tell teacher what B did here after a pre-wipe prediction and why a changed colour or pressure limits a material-cause claim. - **C · large source strips:** Arrange broad A/B source and after-mark cards from actual logs; direct adult to read conditions in order and mark UNKNOWN where a material is unverified. ## Day 35 · After the held check only - **A · future card:** Make a new fictional poster with a different claim and write one testable question; stamp MODEL and leave actual result NOT TESTED. - **B · reason:** Explain why a sentence saying “never changes” needs dated trials on approved surfaces, rather than a bold line on paper. - **C · tactile:** Trace a broad invented curve on paper and arrange CLAIM / TEST NEEDED / UNKNOWN cards; ask an adult what real safe source would be needed. ## Day 36 · Two meanings of pattern - **A · compare representations:** Arrange an invented AB shape decoration beside Model V's three record cards; identify which is a repeated design and which *claims to depict* trials but is fictional. - **B · tell/AAC:** Say why two drawn thin after-lines are not two real observations; describe what three dated comparable trials would add. - **C · large cards:** Trace broad fixed AB decorative cards, then read V1/V2/V3 in order with adult; label both paper models and place a blank ACTUAL RECORD mat for later. ## Day 37 · Three separate actual records - **A · trial log:** After each of up to three adult-led safe wipes on separate dry marks, enter actual after-mark in Trial 1/2/3 with date and any changed condition. - **B · private report:** Predict first, then tell teacher result for each actual try directly seen or attributed adult report; never fill an untested row. - **C · no-touch ordering:** Direct adult through approved mark 1, 2, 3; hear neutral report if needed and select broad SAME/DIFFERENT/NOT TESTED cards for each row with source attribution. ## Day 38 · A cautious small pattern - **A · group rows:** With three comparable actual dated results, group same/different and write “in these tries”; otherwise mark INSUFFICIENT COMPARABLE OBSERVATIONS. - **B · explain:** Tell teacher whether earlier prediction matched each actual result and one condition that could have changed; avoid “always”. - **C · tactile records:** Use three broad source-labelled trial cards read aloud; direct adult to place them under SAME / DIFFERENT / INSUFFICIENT and state the evidence type. ## Day 39 · Evidence report - **A · page:** Complete evidence-summary from one real dated record set or stamp Model V MODEL ONLY; include result/pattern or insufficiency and one limit. - **B · private/AAC:** Tell teacher source, question, prediction, actual results or NOT TESTED, and one next safe check; actual listener feedback is recorded only if it happened. - **C · five prompts:** Touch five secured source-to-limit cards in order while directing an adult scribe; keep adult report and fictional model labels visible. ## Day 40 · After the held check only - **A · new plan:** Set up three blank rows for a different approved future practice surface and mark no actual result before a safe trial. - **B · explain:** Tell why a fictional three-card set can be sorted but cannot show how the local classroom surface behaved. - **C · tactile:** Arrange three large empty trial cards plus one SOURCE card; direct an adult to say what would count as a real comparable record.
