# Exact proposed national crosswalk · Foundation Science Weeks 9–10

Checked 29 September 2026 against the [official ACARA v9 downloadable workbook](https://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au/downloads), pinned at `products/curriculum-studio/research/sources/acara-australian-curriculum-v9-download-2026-09-29.xlsx`, SHA-256 `db446882d2c00cf7c085a03e250e2442fda6c44011fc114680c46c1dc7a822c3`. The [local import](../../../../../data/frameworks/acara-v9.json), exact rows and wording are checked by [verifier](verify_pack.py). [QCAA ACiQ v9 P–10 Science](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9/learning-areas/p-10-science) and [planning resources](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9/learning-areas/p-10-science/p-10-science-planning-resources) are Queensland Prep entry points, not pack approval. These are proposed **conditional, partial links**, not a complete state map or standard judgment.

| Code | Workbook row | Learning area and level | Exact content description |
|---|---:|---|---|
| AC9SFU01 | 18517 | Science · Foundation Year | observe external features of plants and animals and describe ways they can be grouped based on these features |
| AC9SFU02 | 18525 | Science · Foundation Year | describe how objects move and how factors including their size, shape or material influence their movement |
| AC9SFU03 | 18532 | Science · Foundation Year | recognise that objects can be composed of different materials and describe the observable properties of those materials |
| AC9SFH01 | 18542 | Science · Foundation Year | explore the ways people make and use observations and questions to learn about the natural world |
| AC9SFI01 | 18550 | Science · Foundation Year | pose questions and make predictions based on experiences |
| AC9SFI02 | 18556 | Science · Foundation Year | engage in investigations safely and make observations using their senses |
| AC9SFI03 | 18562 | Science · Foundation Year | represent observations in provided templates and identify patterns with guidance |
| AC9SFI04 | 18569 | Science · Foundation Year | compare observations with predictions with guidance |
| AC9SFI05 | 18574 | Science · Foundation Year | share questions, predictions, observations and ideas with others |

## Conditional evidence map

- **Content (AC9SFU01/02/03):** Week 10's source-transfer task revisits actual living features/group rules, movement factors or materials only if an earlier or fresh genuine dated record for that domain exists. A model of leaf-like marks, route arrow or material mark gives *drawing-reading* practice, not content evidence. Day 45's actual verified composite view can sample AC9SFU03; Day 50's actual approved movement may sample AC9SFU02. Neither alone establishes the full description, and the pack does not fabricate a real animal/material/movement source to fill a gap.
- **Human endeavour and questions (AC9SFH01, AC9SFI01):** Children ask what a source could show, distinguish prediction from result and propose a next safe question. An invented notebook can support question language, but its story result is not a local observation.
- **Safe investigation and representation (AC9SFI02/03):** Credit real safe investigation only from a locally approved action/sense route with actual source/date/method/result. A private prior log may be represented with provenance in a blank template; a fictional source remains labelled MODEL. Pattern identification needs multiple comparable **real** records with guidance; two unrelated sample pages or a maths card-count display do not meet it automatically.
- **Prediction comparison and sharing (AC9SFI04/05):** Compare only a genuinely prior prediction and subsequent actual observed result. NOT RECORDED, NOT TESTED and INCOMPARABLE are legitimate conclusions. A child may share privately with a teacher or consenting listener; invented dialogue is never reported as actual feedback.
- **Assessment:** Days 45/50 are new formative samples, with actual and paper routes separated. A single sample cannot certify Term 1, Foundation achievement or future progress. Record supports/access and what remains unobserved, then make a next teaching move.
