# Learner cards · thirty flexible routes to the same Science targets

Read [full fictional sources and genuine-source gate](MATERIALS.md) first. A/B/C are temporary ways to access/express **the same day's claim**; they are not fixed learning styles or ability groups. Read print when decoding is not being assessed. Pointing, speech, sign, AAC, drawing, child-directed adult scribing and broad fixed tactile models are valid. Attribute adult descriptions as **ADULT REPORT**, never child's direct sensory view. A paper/tactile plant-like outline is MODEL, not an actual plant. Day 65/70 learner practice is released only after the first independent held response.

## Day 61 · Is this a real safe source?
- **A · look/mark:** Label F MODEL and, only if approved, point to the actual safe plant view; ask one visible-feature question.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear F and the teacher's neutral description; say which source is paper and what a genuine view could answer.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use fixed MODEL / REAL APPROVED PLANT / QUESTION cards; direct adult to state one safe question without touching a plant.

## Day 62 · First exact feature
- **A · look/mark:** From approved dated view mark one truly visible feature and UNKNOWN; otherwise mark F's drawing only.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear attributed live report or F text; dictate source/date/view and one visible feature or drawn mark.
- **C · touch/choose:** Choose broad SOURCE, VIEW, FEATURE HERE and UNKNOWN labels via touch/AAC; adult records exact source and access.

## Day 63 · Hidden or absent?
- **A · look/mark:** Compare F FRONT/SIDE drawings; mark the right oval NOT VISIBLE in SIDE, not lost from a real plant.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear F in full; explain how the grey paper panel changes visibility and name one actual source needed.
- **C · touch/choose:** Direct adult to cover/uncover broad fixed oval in MODEL; choose HIDDEN HERE and NOT OBSERVED REAL PLANT.

## Day 64 · Plan comparable views
- **A · look/mark:** From a real dated baseline, mark same plant/feature/view for future check; from G, mark paper only.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear earlier record or fictional G; dictate a prediction before any next genuine view and one matching condition.
- **C · touch/choose:** Set fixed SAME PLANT, SAME FEATURE, SAME VIEW and PREDICTION BEFORE cards; use AAC/adult scribe to plan.

## Day 65 · Practice after held response
- **A · look/mark:** Draw two new fictional viewpoints of a large leaf-like outline, label one hidden mark and MODEL.
- **B · hear/say:** Tell an invented story in which a view hides a feature; say why it does not prove growth/loss.
- **C · touch/choose:** Adult moves one broad screen over a secured paper outline on request; child selects VISIBLE HERE / HIDDEN HERE.

## Day 66 · Second real view or honest gap
- **A · look/mark:** Compare same approved plant/feature/view on two real dates; mark exact today feature or NOT OBSERVED.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear prior record and today's attributed neutral report; dictate same/different/unclear with dates and access.
- **C · touch/choose:** Choose fixed FIRST DATE, SECOND DATE, FEATURE and SAME/DIFFERENT/UNCLEAR labels; no touch of plant needed.

## Day 67 · Prediction versus observation
- **A · look/mark:** Place genuine before prediction beside later actual dated view; circle match/mismatch or CANNOT COMPARE.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear original wording and result; state whether comparison is possible and why, without claiming growth from drawing size.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use broad PRIOR PREDICTION, ACTUAL LATER VIEW, NOT RECORDED cards; direct adult to record comparison.

## Day 68 · Visible-feature grouping
- **A · look/mark:** For two approved real plant views, make one feature rule and place A/B only where actual evidence supports it.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear attributed A/B real descriptions or H; state a first group rule and label real versus drawing-only.
- **C · touch/choose:** Feel broad fixed smooth/jagged paper outlines as MODEL or direct adult to read real features; communicate same source-bounded rule.

## Day 69 · Share with a limit
- **A · look/mark:** Show a genuine dated record or H; write/draw “this source shows … / unknown …” for teacher.
- **B · hear/say:** Explain source, exact feature and unknown to a chosen consenting listener; actual feedback only if heard.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use broad SOURCE / FEATURE / UNKNOWN cards with sign/AAC or child-directed adult voice for same claim.

## Day 70 · Practice after held response
- **A · look/mark:** Make two fictional dated view cards; label any changed view and what cannot be compared.
- **B · hear/say:** Dictate a safe plan for two genuine matched views, with prior prediction and dates kept separate.
- **C · touch/choose:** Arrange fixed broad SAME PLANT / VIEW / FEATURE / DATE / UNKNOWN cards to explain a bounded comparison.
