# Learner cards · thirty flexible routes to the same Science targets

Read [full models and source rules](MATERIALS.md). A/B/C routes change how a child accesses or expresses the **same day's question**, not what counts as evidence. Choose in the moment; do not assign fixed learning styles. Speech, sign, AAC, pointing, drawing, adult scribing, neutral attributed ADULT REPORT and secured broad tactile paper models are available. A paper model remains MODEL; a photo is PHOTO of depicted features, not a local live view. No child must see/touch an animal or go outdoors. The Day 85/90 practice routes are used **after** the teacher-held first response.

## Day 81 · Source type
- **A · look/mark:** Sort Model A drawing and any approved dated real-view/PHOTO labels; ask one safe feature question.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear A and provenance read aloud; dictate what is invented versus genuinely sourced.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use broad fixed MODEL / DIRECT / PHOTO / ADULT REPORT cards; express same source question by AAC/sign.

## Day 82 · Full versus cropped
- **A · look/mark:** Compare A WIDE/CLOSE; mark body/ear-like visible and leg/tail-like outside CLOSE.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear both full descriptions and invented B dialogue; state what CLOSE alone cannot establish.
- **C · touch/choose:** Adult moves broad secured frame at child's direction; choose VISIBLE HERE / OUTSIDE FRAME, no animal contact.

## Day 83 · Real photo provenance
- **A · look/mark:** With an adult-checked real photo, choose PHOTO and mark one depicted visible feature and one crop unknown; otherwise MODEL ONLY.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear neutral attributed photo description or A model; dictate feature/source/unknown with PHOTO or MODEL label.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use broad PHOTO / MODEL / FEATURE HERE / OUTSIDE VIEW cards; adult handles creator, rights and date records.

## Day 84 · Same subject or distinct?
- **A · look/mark:** Compare two real source IDs if supplied; choose SAME / DISTINCT / UNKNOWN, not two pictures equals two animals.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear provenance and views; state whether a feature comparison or two-animal group is currently possible.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use broad A/B source strips and one SAME SUBJECT? card; direct adult to record exact uncertainty.

## Day 85 · Practice after first check
- **A · look/mark:** Draw a new invented outline partly outside a paper frame; label what is shown and UNKNOWN.
- **B · hear/say:** Tell a crop story without species or real sighting and ask what source would help.
- **C · touch/choose:** Adult slides a broad frame on a secured paper model on request; child chooses MODEL / HIDDEN HERE.

## Day 86 · Safe distant view
- **A · look/mark:** From approved boundary mark actual local date/feature if genuinely seen, otherwise NOT SEEN TODAY.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear neutral ADULT REPORT only when a real event occurred, or state why paper model cannot fill a missing view.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use fixed SOURCE / DATE / DIRECT OR REPORT / NOT SEEN cards, with AAC or adult scribe; no outdoor/touch demand.

## Day 87 · One external feature
- **A · look/mark:** From genuine dated DIRECT or PHOTO source, mark exactly visible external feature and one unseen area.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear attributed source description; dictate “this source shows … ; it does not tell …”.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use fixed broad FEATURE HERE / OUTSIDE VIEW / SOURCE TYPE cards to communicate same bounded claim.

## Day 88 · First grouping rule
- **A · look/mark:** For two verified distinct real animal sources, place A/B under child-stated visible-feature rule; otherwise C drawings only.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear A/B provenance and features or C; state grouping and whether it is about real subjects or drawings.
- **C · touch/choose:** Use broad A/B strips and a large rule label; direct adult to scribe feature evidence and UNKNOWN.

## Day 89 · Share with source and limit
- **A · look/mark:** Show actual dated source or C, write/draw one feature/rule and what cannot be inferred.
- **B · hear/say:** Tell a chosen listener “source … shows … ; I don't know …”; actual feedback only if heard.
- **C · touch/choose:** Point/sign/AAC fixed SOURCE / FEATURE / UNKNOWN cards; adult voices exact child-selected claim.

## Day 90 · Practice after first check
- **A · look/mark:** Make a new invented pair of outline sources; label SAME / DISTINCT / UNKNOWN and paper-only grouping.
- **B · hear/say:** Describe how two genuine rights-cleared real animal views would support a first external-feature rule.
- **C · touch/choose:** Arrange broad source and rule cards, then choose NOT OBSERVED until genuine sources exist.
