# Separate teacher keys · fresh Days 85 and 90

Consult only after the [first independent response](ASSESSMENT.md) is recorded. These are formative next steps, not marks, diagnosis, classroom-pilot claims or a complete ACARA achievement judgment. There is **no fixed local animal answer**: real presence, features and safe visibility depend on actual approved dated sources. A neutral **ADULT REPORT** is not the child's direct sense; a rights-cleared PHOTO is a mediated view of depicted features, not proof of local presence. No paper outline is a real animal.

## Day 85 · Case P

- **Strong bounded paper response:** NARROW shows round middle and two foot-like strokes. The fan-shaped top mark is above its border; FULL includes it. Both are views of one invented figure, so a NARROW-only viewer cannot conclude the mark is absent from a real animal or that two animals exist. No actual species/location/feature is supplied.
- **Reasonable next source:** a safe school-approved actual distant view if an animal genuinely appears, with local date/access/visible external feature; or a provenanced rights-cleared real PHOTO with creator/licence/date/crop. The PHOTO claim applies only to depicted features, not local presence. An animal need not appear; NOT SEEN TODAY is honest.
- **Do not award:** direct AC9SFU01 real external-feature evidence or AC9SFI02 real investigation from P; species/behaviour inference; a “missing top” biological claim; public location from a paper case.
- **Next move:** if crop is equated with absence, manipulate one broad fixed paper border; if source type is merged, contrast MODEL/PHOTO/DIRECT labels; if source discipline is strong, plan one genuine safe view.

## Day 90 · Case Q

- **Strong bounded paper response:** two printed cards, but their shared PUPPET DRAWING 42 stamp and text identify one invented figure. LEFT displays three square back patches; RIGHT displays one because of crop, with two outside. Paper marks may be compared or sorted as paper views, but there are **not two real animals** to group.
- **Reasonable next source:** two distinct verified real animal subjects, separately dated and safely viewed or represented by rights-cleared PHOTOs, each with source/view/access and an actually visible external feature under the child's rule. If identity/feature or rights are unknown, mark grouping NOT OBSERVED. A PHOTO does not prove either subject is at school.
- **Do not award:** a two-animal AC9SFU01 grouping from two crops of one puppet; a claim patches disappeared; animal species or local Country/Place inference; actual observation from printed model only.
- **Next move:** if child counts cards as animals, compare source IDs; if child treats hidden as absent, reveal full/crop paper source; if strong, invite a teacher-approved real two-source grouping when available.

**Interpretation:** AC9SFU01 includes visible external features of **plants and animals** and grouping; this pack samples animals only when genuine sources exist, alongside earlier plant work. A fictional model can show source reasoning, never a local animal feature. AC9SFI02 requires genuine safe investigation; a verified PHOTO may support depicted feature observation but is not live local investigation. If no actual source was available, write **REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE**, not child inability. One check cannot certify term/year mastery or improvement.
