# Exact proposed national crosswalk · Foundation Science Term 3 Weeks 23–24

Checked 29 September 2026 against the [official ACARA v9 downloadable workbook](https://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au/downloads), pinned locally at `products/curriculum-studio/research/sources/acara-australian-curriculum-v9-download-2026-09-29.xlsx`, SHA-256 `db446882d2c00cf7c085a03e250e2442fda6c44011fc114680c46c1dc7a822c3`. The [verifier](verify_pack.py) checks exact code, row, level, area and wording against the [local import](../../../../../data/frameworks/acara-v9.json). [QCAA ACiQ v9 P–10 Science](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9/learning-areas/p-10-science) and [planning resources](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9/learning-areas/p-10-science/p-10-science-planning-resources) are Queensland Prep entry points; this pack is not endorsed or a full local syllabus. Links are proposed, partial and conditional.

| AC9SFI01 | 18550 | Science · Foundation Year | pose questions and make predictions based on experiences |
| AC9SFI02 | 18556 | Science · Foundation Year | engage in investigations safely and make observations using their senses |
| AC9SFI03 | 18562 | Science · Foundation Year | represent observations in provided templates and identify patterns with guidance |

## Conditional evidence map

- **Materials and observable properties (AC9SFU03):** A genuine, approved, dated one-drop comparison can support an exact description of how these particular confirmed plain-paper and washable-plastic surfaces *looked* after a tiny drop and fixed wait. The first subclause on objects made of multiple materials is addressed in earlier material packs; this pair of single-surface samples is only a partial opportunity for AC9SFU03. A drawn dark patch is not a material property, and appearance alone does not prove absorption, evaporation, waterproofing, water destination or hygiene.
- **Questions and prediction (AC9SFH01, AC9SFI01):** Ask what visible mark may appear and plan one surface change. Record a genuine prior prediction before genuine results if made. D's invented prediction exists only within its model; an after-result guess is not prior.
- **Safe inquiry and templates (AC9SFI02/03):** Credit actual safe investigation only with school approval/pretest, local date, exact materials, child direct access or attributed ADULT REPORT, raw before/action/after and paired valid/interrupted entries. Paper models can practise the provided template and pattern reading, not actual investigation. Mixed, interrupted or insufficient real evidence must remain visible.
- **Compare and share (AC9SFI04/05):** Compare genuine observation with genuinely earlier prediction with guidance; otherwise say NO PRIOR PREDICTION. Share source-backed appearance and one unknown privately by speech, sign, AAC, pointing, drawing or adult-directed words. D/E and held cases support source reasoning only.
- **Theme boundary:** The integrated [Week 23 shared-event story](../../../term-3/week-23-a-story-we-can-place-in-time.md) supplies sequence language, not a Science experiment or an actual family event. [Week 24 feelings/help](../../../term-3/week-24-feelings-and-help.md) supplies a safeguard that a real spill goes to an adult, not a Science result or evidence about a child's feelings. No family, HASS or HPE code is inferred from this material pack.
- **Fresh checks:** Held Days 115/120 sample fair-plan, source, interruption and claim boundaries on novel paper cases. They cannot establish a real material property, actual safe investigation, learning gain or full achievement standard.
