# Learner choice cards · same Science target, Days 131–140

Offer any route on any day, combine them or pause. They are **access and interest choices, not fixed learning styles or diagnoses**. A broad secured tactile **paper** line is not a real fabric/card sample. No child must touch, smell, handle glue, speak publicly or identify materials from an unverified drawing. Use the learner's established AAC/sign system; adult scribes exact child-directed wording. All actual work follows the [adult safety and provenance gate](MATERIALS.md). For check days, use these practice routes **after** the first independent response.

## Day 131 · Pictured regions

- **A · see/mark:** Point to K's plain-looking left region, count six drawn lines at right and place PICTURE ONLY beside both.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear K described left to right; dictate “the picture shows lines, but the material is unknown.”
- **C · choose/direct:** Use two broad fixed PLAIN DRAWING / SIX LINES cards and choose MATERIAL VERIFIED / MATERIAL UNKNOWN; direct an adult to place UNKNOWN.

## Day 132 · Reported components

- **A · see/mark:** Link invented sign backing to A and patch to B in L, then leave the joining layer unlabelled.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear L's maker note and say “the fictional maker reports card and fabric; the picture alone did not tell me.”
- **C · choose/direct:** Sequence MODEL / MAKER SAYS CARD / MAKER SAYS FABRIC / JOIN UNKNOWN with broad secured or AAC labels.

## Day 133 · Actual feature and material source

- **A · see/record:** If a real approved sample is directly viewed, sketch only the feature actually visible and enter material source separately; otherwise mark MODEL/NOT OBSERVED.
- **B · hear/say:** Dictate own actual directly accessed feature when it happened, or quote a neutral attributed ADULT REPORT; do not change report to “I saw”.
- **C · choose/direct:** Select DIRECT / ADULT REPORT / MODEL, then VISIBLE RIBS / NO VISIBLE RIBS / UNCLEAR / NOT VIEWED and a verified material label or UNKNOWN.

## Day 134 · One-property sort

- **A · see/place:** Move broad real viewed sample cards once under VISIBLE RIBS or NO VISIBLE RIBS; use UNCLEAR for missing views and mark a different-material same-feature counterexample if sourced.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear L's A/B/C note and verbally sort its reported appearances, naming MODEL and C as a ribbed paper-based counterexample.
- **C · choose/direct:** Direct an adult to put fixed A/B/C model tokens in two bins by visible feature, then choose SAME FEATURE / DIFFERENT MATERIAL for B and C.

## Day 135 · New practice only after the check

- **A · see/mark:** On a fresh invented two-colour shape picture, circle the two coloured regions and leave the material box blank.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear “one rectangle has a white half and a striped half”; say what is drawn and what maker source is missing.
- **C · choose/direct:** Choose PICTURE REGIONS SHOWN and MATERIAL NOT VERIFIED, then direct an adult to ask a neutral maker question.

## Day 136 · A neutral source question

- **A · see/write:** Put a question mark between a drawn sample and a maker/source icon; write or direct “What is this made from, and how do you know?”
- **B · hear/say:** Ask N's fictional maker question and repeat the answer with “the maker said” rather than “I felt”.
- **C · choose/direct:** Select QUESTION / MAKER ANSWER / I NOTICED cards; choose PASS/REPEAT without explaining if a real respondent declines.

## Day 137 · Two source fields

- **A · see/record:** Use separate boxes for a genuinely visible feature and a verified maker/product material label; leave one blank if unavailable.
- **B · hear/say:** Say one source sentence: “I directly noticed …; the maker reported …” only if both occurred, or “in fictional L …”.
- **C · choose/direct:** Choose DIRECT FEATURE / ADULT REPORT / MODEL and MATERIAL KNOWN / MATERIAL UNKNOWN labels, then direct exact scribing.

## Day 138 · Prediction and actual view

- **A · see/mark:** Before a new approved view, record MAY SEE RIBS or MAY NOT SEE RIBS; after, mark the exact visible result or NOT VIEWED.
- **B · hear/say:** Dictate an earlier prediction and later observation only if both genuinely happened; otherwise say CANNOT COMPARE.
- **C · choose/direct:** Use broad BEFORE / AFTER / MISSING slots and SAME / DIFFERENT / UNCLEAR / CANNOT COMPARE choices; adult preserves timing/source.

## Day 139 · Bounded share

- **A · see/mark:** Fill FEATURE, MATERIAL SOURCE, COUNTEREXAMPLE, UNKNOWN on the claim mat and show to a chosen private listener.
- **B · hear/say:** Tell a willing adult “In this source, two samples show ribs, but they have different reported materials”; include MODEL or actual date.
- **C · choose/direct:** Sequence AAC or secured tactile SOURCE / FEATURE / MATERIAL LABEL / COUNTEREXAMPLE / NEXT QUESTION; record actual listener response only if one occurred.

## Day 140 · New practice only after the check

- **A · see/place:** Sort fresh fictional large symbol panels by dotted/not dotted appearance, then leave all actual-material labels UNKNOWN.
- **B · hear/say:** Hear a new paper note with two same-looking surfaces and different stated maker labels; report the note's limits.
- **C · choose/direct:** Put broad SAME DRAWN PROPERTY and DIFFERENT REPORTED MATERIAL cards side by side, then ask what actual sample/source would be needed.

Record first words/signs/selections, source, access and prompts in the school's private system. An adult report may support reasoning and participation without being recoded as the child's own sensory observation.
