# Three transcript-ready read-aloud text masters

These are original **text masters, not recorded audio**. An educator may read, sign, translate with qualified review or record later after voice/accessibility checks. Read source labels audibly. ## Track 1 · Four notebook pictures

“This is a **fictional paper notebook**. It is not a real field observation. N one is a plant drawing with a stem and three rounded leaf marks. N two is a plant drawing with a stem and three pointed leaf marks. N three is an animal puppet drawing with two pointed ear marks and four leg marks. N four is an animal puppet drawing with two rounded ear marks and four leg marks. These are the invented author's labels. Tell me a mark you notice. What can this paper *not* tell us about a real plant or animal? You may answer by voice, sign, pointing, AAC or a pass.”

## Track 2 · The rule that needs repair

“The fictional notebook author says, ‘Every drawing with a pointed outer part is an animal drawing.’ Pause. N two has pointed leaf marks, and the author calls it a plant drawing. N three has pointed ear marks, and the author calls it an animal puppet drawing. Pause. Which one breaks the author's *every* rule? A careful new line is: ‘Pointed outer marks appear in both labelled picture groups on this page.’ It tells us about these drawings. It does not prove a fact about all living things.”

## Track 3 · Source first, then share

“Before I tell a Science idea, I say where it came from. Was it my safe view of a real subject, a real photo, an adult's report, or a fictional paper picture? A photo shows only what is in its view. A paper picture shows only its drawn marks. If I found a drawing that breaks my broad rule, I can change my rule. I can say what I still cannot see. I can share this with a willing person, or choose not to.”
