# Two new public formative image puzzles · learner copy

These are low-stakes teaching probes, not a formal or secure instrument. A child may use drawing, broad cards, fixed raised lines, AAC or a neutral scribe. Do not assess “neatness,” fine-motor speed or visual acuity from the route. Keep the separate [teacher key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md) away from learner copies until first responses are saved.

## Check A · New G paper tunnel

The *fictional paper* tunnel has two parallel **straight** horizontal lines, TOP and BOTTOM. The maker wants the **bottom path to bend**, while the **top stays straight**. Change one line. Show both lines and point/say which line changed. Give a possible reason for the drawing choice. This is an invented picture, not a real wayfinding mark.

**Record neutrally:** first two-line image, changed line, child's reason and route. Do not draw the bend for the child before first response.

## Check B · New H two paper gardens

Start **1 TRIANGLE, 2 CIRCLE / 3 TRIANGLE, 4 CIRCLE**: the second pair repeats the first. The maker wants the second garden to **start with a SQUARE** while its **CIRCLE stays**. Change one tile, show all four and explain which pair changed. Choose a willing person to show the original image to, a paper puppet to rehearse with, or a pass. Actual sharing is recorded separately.

**Record neutrally:** first four-tile image, changed tile, reason, route, actual recipient if any. Puppet-only rehearsal or pass is a valid choice but not actual-audience evidence.
