# Foundation Visual Arts / Queensland Prep · Term 1 Weeks 5–6

This third original fortnight follows [Weeks 1–2 line/shape/overlap](../weeks-01-02/README.md) and [Weeks 3–4 size/frame/open-region/mark](../weeks-03-04/README.md). Children now explore **contour, filled silhouette and the gap made between two broad forms** using entirely invented geometry. They then choose and arrange **large adult-prepared paper/card pieces** for a cut-free layered collage, with optional approved physical marking/placing, a child's stated idea, revision and consent-led sharing. A paper plan is still valuable when material handling is unsuitable; it is not logged as a physical process.

The invented fork form is **not a plant or animal specimen**. A real local plant feature can inform an artwork only after the separate Science source/safety gate; an art choice does not establish species, growth or grouping. Week 6 collage choices are about what the image communicates, not whether paper or card is stronger for a holder.
