# Two fresh learner checks · copy this section without the teacher key

These are public formative prompts, not secure tests. Use the matching [large A4 pages](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md) or read the exact source descriptions below. Offer speech, sign, AAC, pointing, drawing, a neutral adult scribe or locally approved broad fixed pieces. Keep the first response. The adult may repeat the prompt and describe blank spaces, but must not supply an arrangement or tell the child what to choose. Record who actually marks or places material. **No physical materials are required.** The [teacher key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md) is separate and should be opened only after the first work is saved.

## Check K · Day 25 · Paper Fan Form

This is an **invented drawing**, not a real fan, plant or cultural design. The source has one low broad curved base and four broad rays rising from it. One open wedge lies between the two middle rays. The page has two empty idea spaces, IDEA 1 and IDEA 2. You may use the page, an exact spoken description or a no-material response.

1. Show **two different ways** to treat the same form and its open wedge. In each idea, tell or show which part is an outside line and which part, if any, is filled. Keep an opening visible or explain where you would leave it.
2. Choose one of your two ideas for an imaginary viewer. What do you want that viewer to notice? Your reason can be your own.
3. Tell/show where the opening is in your chosen idea. If an adult made any physical marks, say which choices were yours and who made the marks.

## Check L · Day 30 · Robot Postcard

This is an **invented postcard idea**, not a claim about a real machine. The source shows two separate large simple pieces: a ROUND HEAD and a STEP-SHAPED TOOL. The page has two empty idea spaces, IDEA 1 and IDEA 2. They are blank: there is no supplied overlap, front piece, material, colour or “right-looking” robot.

1. Show **two different ways** the two large pieces could be together: choose a front piece or deliberately place them apart. Say which edge the viewer would see or which gap would stay open in each idea.
2. Pick one idea for your own imaginary postcard message. What do you want a viewer to notice or understand?
3. Name one possible broad material or drawing process for your chosen idea. If you did not inspect or use real material, say **UNKNOWN/NOT TRIED**. Say who actually moved or marked anything, if anyone. A spoken plan counts as a plan.
