# Ten child-facing choice cards · same art goal in every route

Offer A, B or C and switch at any point. A uses a visible page or optional local browser; B uses exact words, AAC, sign, eye gaze or a neutral adult scribe; C uses broad fixed/tactile pieces **only with local approval and the child's agreement**, or a no-touch gesture/directing route. These are choices for access, not fixed “learning styles.” Do not require speech, grip, standing, sound, public sharing, an account, a purchase or a screen. Record what the child decided and who actually marked/moved materials. The [teacher script](LESSONS.md) supplies timing.

## Day 31 · Known mark, unknown meaning

**Shared target:** describe a seen invented mark and keep its meaning open while choosing an art question.
- **A · Inspect:** Look at the Paper Planet LOOP–SQUARE card. Point to what is drawn; sketch a different harmless question beside it without saying it is a real sign.
- **B · Exact reading:** Hear “loop above square; meaning unknown”; use AAC/sign/eye gaze or an adult scribe to state one feature and one thing still unknown.
- **C · Follow safely:** With approval, explore a large fixed loop/square boundary or direct an adult to trace it; no touch is needed to choose which part to show first.
**Family bridge:** Draw a made-up squiggle in the air and ask what is visible versus what it means. Leave meaning undecided unless the maker tells you. No photograph or real sign is needed.

## Day 32 · First panel route

**Shared target:** choose where a viewer begins a two-panel fictional image and name the intended path.
- **A · Arrange:** Draw or use the [offline panel switch](digital/README.md) to try panels across and down; add your own small start cue.
- **B · Direct:** Hear both orders and direct an adult from first to second by AAC, sign, point or words; say where you hope a viewer begins.
- **C · Big spaces:** With approval, indicate one of two large fixed panel outlines on a table; otherwise trace “across” or “down” in the air while an adult follows.
**Family bridge:** Use two empty spaces made by hands, then tell a willing person which one to imagine first. Do not assume they guessed correctly unless you ask.

## Day 33 · Same detail, changed detail

**Shared target:** keep one invented cue across two panels and change one visible feature to carry a new idea.
- **A · Draw:** Make a plain circle tag in both panels and change where it sits; then choose a different cue if you prefer.
- **B · Specify:** Use speech/AAC/sign to tell a scribe “keep ___; change ___”; the adult repeats it exactly before marking.
- **C · Direct pieces:** If approved, direct the position of one large fixed shape in two panels. A no-material gesture showing “same/moved” works too.
**Family bridge:** Imagine a parcel sticker that moves from table to bag; say what stays on the sticker and what changes around it. It remains an invented story.

## Day 34 · Two-panel question card

**Shared target:** author a fictional two-panel image with a first panel, retained cue and reasoned revision.
- **A · Make:** Draw two broad panels for an imaginary paper-ticket question; mark a first panel and alter one detail if it helps your idea.
- **B · Narrate/direct:** Give the panel order, same cue and one change via AAC, sign, point or exact scribe; ask the adult to read your plan back.
- **C · Large route:** If approved, place or direct two broad adult-prepared scene shapes; compare first and revised positions. No touch or physical piece is required.
**Family bridge:** A caregiver asks, “Which picture comes first? How would I know it is the same made-up object?” A spoken answer is enough; a real safety question goes to the responsible adult.

## Day 35 · Check M

**Shared target:** independently try two panel paths for the fresh fictional shelf card, choose one and explain one continuous/changed detail.
- **A · Show:** Use [Check M](STUDENT-CHECKS.md#check-m--day-35--fictional-shelf-card) to draw two options, then mark your chosen viewing path.
- **B · Communicate:** Have the source read exactly; respond by AAC, sign, gaze, point or neutral scribe with two different image plans and a reason.
- **C · Direct safely:** If approved, direct broad fixed blank panel cards; otherwise use a no-material left/right or top/bottom gesture. The adult gives no solution hint.
**Family bridge:** After collection, invent a *different* two-panel question for a pretend ticket machine and explain where a viewer should look first.

## Day 36 · Change or return

**Shared target:** tell an invented story change from a returning mark group, then choose one art structure for a purpose.
- **A · Compare:** Look at OPEN BOX → CLOSED BOX and ARCH, BAR | ARCH, BAR; show which image changes and which group returns.
- **B · Hear a precise sequence:** Have each panel/mark read in order; show “changed” or “came back” by AAC, sign, point or words, then choose one for your page.
- **C · Safe broad route:** If approved, use two large box cards and two fixed arch/bar cards. Without pieces, direct an adult to say the states/marks in order.
**Family bridge:** Tell one tiny made-up before/after story, then repeat a two-word soundless phrase with a pause between groups. You may keep it entirely verbal.

## Day 37 · Make a grouped visual beat

**Shared target:** invent two broad marks, repeat the same ordered group at least three times and choose how to group it for a viewer.
- **A · Draw/digital:** Use a blank strip or the [offline visual strip](digital/README.md); make three full returns of your own two-mark unit and choose gaps between units.
- **B · Call the order:** Name/indicate two marks, then direct a neutral scribe through each full unit; tell where the group boundary goes.
- **C · Fixed/no-touch:** If safe, direct broad fixed shapes; otherwise use two air gestures or two AAC symbols and ask the adult to repeat the whole group back.
**Family bridge:** Repeat “window, feather” or two child-chosen harmless words three times. Ask where a visual strip could leave breathing room between groups; no materials needed.

## Day 38 · Quiet translation

**Shared target:** map a visual two-mark unit to an accessible silent action and back, with one chosen visual revision.
- **A · Sketch:** Draw a two-mark strip, put an action symbol under each mark, then redraw the same mark order with a new gap or size choice.
- **B · Direct by language:** Use AAC/sign/words to name each mark/action match and the return order. The adult states exactly which support was needed.
- **C · Seated/still choice:** If approved, use two small safe movements or direct an adult's hand/card; a completely still eye-gaze or spoken route carries the same mapping.
**Family bridge:** Choose two silent signals that work for your body, or only describe them. Return to the two imagined marks and say what stayed in order.

## Day 39 · Maker, work and chosen viewer

**Shared target:** respond to an authorised real work's documented role **if available**, and choose whether to revise/share one's own strip.
- **A · Private look:** Look at a cleared named work and its maker/source-stated purpose. Respond to one actually visible feature and the documented role; if unavailable, leave the real-work field empty.
- **B · Accessible encounter:** Hear an authorised neutral description, maker credit and source-stated context; respond by AAC, sign, eye gaze or private scribe without guessing cultural meaning.
- **C · Consent route:** Direct a description or approved large reproduction with no touch; independently choose a willing private real viewer, later share, rehearsal or pass for your own art.
**Family bridge:** The child may show their own work to a willing person; record an actual share only if it occurs and the child agrees. Do not post a child's image or imitate a real maker's work.

## Day 40 · Check N

**Shared target:** independently choose a two-mark unit for the fresh path strip, show two grouping options and explain an intended art effect.
- **A · Draw:** Use [Check N](STUDENT-CHECKS.md#check-n--day-40--path-strip) to give two complete strips and mark the whole unit in each.
- **B · Say/direct:** Hear the new mark descriptions once; use AAC/sign/point/neutral scribe to give two full repeat options and why one suits your image.
- **C · Fixed/no-material:** With approval direct two broad safe fixed symbols, or give the two orders and grouping choices without touching anything. Name actual handler or PLAN ONLY.
**Family bridge:** After the first check is collected, try a new visual beat using two household words or air shapes. Keep the child response private unless they choose to share.
