# Optional offline art companion

Open [index.html](index.html) in a modern browser from a local folder or from the school's approved static host. It has two short choices: **Panel Path** (Week 7) and **Visual Beat** (Week 8). There is no account, camera, microphone, upload, analytics, saved work, score, user name or request beyond the page's own static HTML/CSS/JS when hosted. Closing/reloading clears the temporary choices. An adult can show one choice on a shared device; children can use buttons, keyboard, screen reader, exact adult description or choose the [paper/no-material equivalents](../print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md). Nothing in the browser is required to meet the lesson's art goal.

Visual review copies: [desktop preview](previews/desktop.png) and [mobile preview](previews/mobile.png). Both show the initial state; the buttons and selects work in the live page.

**Teacher use:** For Day 32, let the child choose across/down, which fictional panel appears first and whether a start cue helps their *intended* viewer. Ask how an actual willing person followed it only if you run a locally permitted viewer check; the screen alone proves no comprehension. For Days 37–38, choose two practice marks, AB or AAB, and unit spacing. Ask for the whole recurring unit and a separate art reason for the layout. A child can then author different marks on paper, by AAC or by directing an adult. The browser's ARCH/BAR/DOT/WAVE examples do not appear in either fresh check source.

**Access:** Native buttons and selects are keyboard operable, focus visibly highlights controls, sequence changes are announced through an `aria-live` summary, mark cards have text labels, and no information relies on colour. An exact text alternative appears below each visual. The screen contains no sound, animation or time limit. If local assistive technology reads it differently, use the [linear routes](../print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md) and report that finding; accessibility-user validation has not happened.

**Boundary:** The Panel Path shows a *fictional* question, not a real school sign or emergency instruction. The Visual Beat is a practice art strip; the mathematics teacher judges pattern recognition separately. No real maker or audience work is supplied. Do not enter or collect child information.
