# Two fresh Visual Arts checks · learner copy

The teacher reads the exact source and question. The child may draw, direct broad prepared marks, point, sign, use AAC or dictate. An adult records **the child's** exact choice and actual handler without offering a cue or reason. Both sources are wholly imaginary and appear for the first time here. This copy has no answer. Keep the [educator key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md) separately. These are short formative samples, not a secure examination or term grade.

## Check Q · Day 45 · Imaginary seed-pod cart

**Source:** An invented story cart has a long flat tray, one big **oval pod box** on it, and a **hook-shaped handle** at one end. No real cart or plant was observed. The maker wants to create a small art card about this imaginary cart.

**Your art task:** Choose **one part** you want someone to notice. Show **two different art ideas** for making that same part stand out. You may name colours, but each idea needs a clue that still works if the page has no colour. Choose one idea and tell why. The blank fields are for a child or neutral scribe. A described plan is valid idea evidence and stays labelled **plan only** unless made. No viewer response is claimed.

## Check R · Day 50 · Imaginary station clock

**Source:** An adult's fictional first sketch shows a large **round station clock face** on a plain page. A **small triangular pointer** sits inside it. The first sketch says “blue face”; it has **no other cue on the face**. This is a made-up picture, not a real station clock, timetable, sign or child's earlier work.

**Your art task:** Choose a part you want a viewer to find. Show a **now version**. Keep or change at least one feature of the supplied first draft and say why. You may choose a different colour, the same colour, or no colour; give the chosen part another independent finding clue. Use the [large blank page](print/check-r-clock.pdf) or exact words. There is no required colour and no claim that a real viewer saw it.
