# SubjectNest · Foundation / Queensland Prep Visual Arts · Term 2 Weeks 13–14

**Days 61–70 · ten original 25-minute sessions · author desk draft, not classroom piloted.** Children explore **visual texture** by changing line length, direction and spacing, and label what came from a source versus what they invented as illustrators. Week 13 uses the integrated **fictional** cardboard-boat story without asking for anyone's family information. Week 14 offers safe, approved real plant viewing **only when available**, with a complete fictional art fallback. A change in marks is not proof a living thing changed.

## Run a day

1. Read the day's [timed script](LESSONS.md) and [three-route learner card](LEARNER-CARDS.md). Use the [20 worked context bridges](PRACTICE-SWAPS.md) for interests without presenting them as actual observations.
2. Choose an [original A4 aid or exact read-aloud route](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md). Approved dry marks are optional; [materials and evidence rules](MATERIALS.md) include true no-material participation. The [offline mark lab](digital/README.md) is an optional visual/text aid.
3. Use fresh [learner Checks U/V](STUDENT-CHECKS.md) on Days 65/70; keep the [separate educator key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md) out of sight until first responses. Record child mark choice, source/fiction status, actual maker/handler and neutral support.
4. Use the [real-artwork/audience source slot](AUTHENTIC-SOURCE-SLOT.md) only with school-approved rights and actual events. The [exact ACARA/QCAA crosswalk](CURRICULUM-CROSSWALK.md) describes partial Visual Arts practice and clear HASS/Science limits.

Integrated [Week 13](../../../term-2/week-13-people-in-a-story.md) assesses careful source use and any private, child-chosen family evidence under HASS rules. This art pack needs none of a child's family details. Integrated [Week 14](../../../term-2/week-14-looking-again-at-plants.md) manages safe real observation and source dates under Science rules. A visually inventive drawing can be strong art even when no real plant is available; a fictional plant is never a real biology result.
