# Fresh learner checks — AA and AB

Teacher reads child prompts one at a time and offers A/B/C routes from LEARNER-CARDS. Hold these sources until Days 95/100; practice uses three vertical bands and generic stages, while AA changes to two horizontal bands and AB adds a new dated fictional sequence. No worked answer, finished response, right feeling or chosen use is supplied. The teacher key is separate. First response is captured before teaching/model feedback; mechanical/adult help is recorded. Seven-minute making slots are lesson guides, not timed check completion; pause and use an additional short follow-up as needed.

## Check AA · Day 95 · Turn the crossings

Use [fresh AA A4](print/check-aa-turn.pdf) or its [exact alternative](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md). **FICTIONAL UNMADE SOURCE PLAN:** two broad horizontal bands, one upper and one lower, and a separate broad vertical strip at the right. Neither front/behind crossing nor actual result is chosen. No pattern/meaning or viewer is supplied.

Child prompts:

1. “Where are the two bands? Which strip will you choose to cross them?” Indicate one supplied feature; teacher can read it exactly.
2. “Choose one front and one behind crossing. What could your art suggest?” Child may choose a stacked alternative; record that process accurately and plan next interlacing practice.
3. “Make, draw or tell your small art idea. What did you choose?” Accept exact direction to an adult and the no-material plan.
4. “What is actually made or tried? What still needs trying?” Record physical interlacing / FLAT COLLAGE / DRAWING / PLAN ONLY and direct observation versus report. A chosen art use need not involve anyone else.

## Check AB · Day 100 · A new maker story

No intended meaning, physical success or audience is known. These invented dates do not belong to your work.

Child prompts:

1. “Show one change in these pictures. What can they not tell us?” Read source facts exactly without solving.
2. “Choose a new idea of your own. Make three small pictures to help you remember or explain it.” It can be for your private self, desk art or a willing person; no copied design is required.
3. “Which bit is your art choice? Which bit came from the source?” Accept a short original maker card/panel, exact adult directions or PLAN ONLY. Label adult preparation separately.
4. “Is it made or planned? Kept private, shared, or not yet shared?” A planned recipient is not a willing audience or actual delivery. Record actual date/creator/support separately from fictional source labels.

A response may need another short component later. It is not a term grade, whole-standard judgement, engineering proof, full scientific evidence record, integrated midyear portfolio or Country/Place evidence. The teacher records unknown or not secure and plans a next opportunity.
