# Local source-card editor: use and terms

SubjectNest teacher support | Original optional editor | 3 October 2026

This optional companion adds an editable source-card desk to the dated guide. The original six worked examples, their source checks and their full provider notices remain in NOTICE.html and NOTICE.md. They retain their stated 2 October 2026 check dates. No newer fact check is implied by the editor date.

Original card-desk.html, card-desk.js, desk.css and associated rebuild/verification changes (c) NeuroForgeIO Pty Ltd / SubjectNest 2026, Codex assisted. Software: Apache License 2.0, with the full unchanged CODE-LICENSE.txt and readable CODE-LICENSE.html. Original interface teaching text and this notice are also CC BY 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ . Give appropriate credit and identify changes. User-entered writing, provider content and community material retain their own rights. Keep this notice, the full guide/source notices and the full software licence with redistributed copies. No external runtime, font or media is supplied.

The desk needs JavaScript for its form, plain-text preview, editable JSON save/reopen, readable Markdown save and print button. The guide, original blank CARD.html/CARD.md, dated worked examples and full notices remain readable without it. The desk uses only its sibling files and browser/system fonts. It does not fetch sources, send entered content, collect analytics, use geolocation, contact an AI assistant or save to persistent browser storage. Your writing is held in the current tab until you download it; closing or reloading the tab can lose unsaved writing. Downloads, browser history, printing and system behaviour are separate. Choosing an ordinary external link uses that provider's service.

Reopening accepts only this editor's version 1 card structure, strings of up to 10,000 characters per field and an input file of up to 1 MB. The complete saved document is checked before replacing fields. Those checks concern file structure, not accuracy, identity, permission or the presence of a real human review. User-entered URLs and markup remain plain text and are never opened or executed by the editor. A recorded "ready for this stated use" decision is the user's or reviewer's statement. Changing the content marks it draft again; previous reviewer details remain for context.

A named suitable adult must check the actual source, place/boundary, period, units/definitions, fact, calculation, task, response, rights and intended use. A recent check does not make older data recent. There is no automatic always-current or all-state curriculum badge. For community knowledge or First Nations languages, seek appropriate community involvement and permissions. No learner identity, home address, family income or submitted work is required. Keep learner reasoning separate from an adult's selection, reading or scribing.

The readable Markdown card includes user-entered content and the original template credit. The editable JSON card carries the format, version and user-entered fields. Keep the companion notices and full software licence when distributing the editor or guide. A teacher's filled card needs their own review before classroom use. Actual source release, website publication, printer output and classroom use remain separate.
