# Learner choice cards · Days 21–30

**Choose one core card a day.** Your teacher reads each scene aloud. You read only the bold **Child reads** line; point under every grapheme, blend, reread, then tell what the line says. These are invented people, objects and places. You may answer by speaking, signing, AAC, pointing or writing. If your class has already learned final `ck`, your teacher may swap in the separately marked Route A card. No child needs to read that card to complete three choices. Day 25 and Day 30 cards are used **after** the unseen check.

## Day 21 · notice a sign and its reader

1. **Maker table:** Two puppets fix a torn paper mesh. **Child reads:** `Meg can mend a net.` Tell who acts and what is changed.
2. **Music corner:** A child taps a safe empty paper tin in a pretend rhythm. **Child reads:** `Ben can tap a tin.` Show the action with a tap or gesture.
3. **Paper map:** A folded map is put away. **Child reads:** `A map is in a bag.` Point to the word that tells where.

**Route A only, if `ck` taught:** At an imaginary camping display, **Child reads:** `Sam can pack a sack.`

## Day 22 · use print and picture together

1. **Costume shelf:** A hat rests on a play mat. **Child reads:** `A red cap is on a mat.` Say what colour the line actually names.

**Make your own:** If you want a different invented scene, choose known words, say your new idea first, then write and reread it. An adult can write words you direct; your teacher notes which words you read independently. Nobody needs to share where they live or a family story.
