# Optional five-to-ten-minute invitations

These deepen a concept after the 25-minute lesson. They need the supplied cards and paper only. They are not homework obligations, experiments, medical advice or extra marks. A learner can choose an interest, skip an invitation or work with an adult without disclosing personal information.

| 1 | **Nature guide:** write a caption for an imaginary wetland cell drawing that distinguishes a visible label from a guess. |
| 2 | **Food production:** explain why a fictional fermentation microbe can assemble protein even when its DNA is not inside a nucleus; stay with Card B's model, not a culture recipe. |
| 3 | **Game design:** create a two-question classification gate; include “need more information” as a valid result for an incomplete sketch. |
| 4 | **Urban trees:** draft a sign for a fictional leaf cell display that mentions photosynthesis and states that not all cells in a tree have chloroplasts. |
| 5 | **Museum interpretation:** after submitting the new-case check, write one sentence about why an incomplete model belongs in a science exhibit. |
| 6 | **Parcel analogy audit:** an imagined dispatch centre can help order an exported-protein route. Identify where the analogy fails: cells are not literal factories, and not all proteins travel this route. |
| 7 | **Water balance:** use the model of a plant central vacuole to describe a compartment role without claiming every cell has the same size or contents. |
| 8 | **Sports venue map:** invent four nested venue levels as an *analogy*, then state why a venue does not prove the biological cell→system hierarchy. |
| 9 | **Information literacy:** find a bounded word in each of Cards A, C and F and explain how it prevents an overclaim. No web search is required. |
| 10 | **Accessible exhibit:** after first-check submission, write a 40-word guide to one organelle job that makes sense without a diagram. |
