# Queensland Year 11 Essential Mathematics · Term 1 Weeks 1–2

A separate **Applied (Essential) senior pathway starter**: ten teacher-ready, 25-minute ratio lessons (Days 1–10). Essential Mathematics is one Queensland senior subject choice; this pack does **not** imply every student takes it or replace General Mathematics. Read the [teacher scripts](LESSONS.md), give learners [Cards A–G](LEARNER-CARDS.md) and any of [20 optional practice swaps](PRACTICE-SWAPS.md). The Day 5 and Day 10 [formative check prompts](STUDENT-CHECKS.md) have a separate [public teacher-targeted key](teacher/KEY-AND-NEXT.md). A public key makes them unsuitable as secure exams; collect first work before feedback and change values if prior access matters.

Five original [A4 SVG/PDF aids with exact accessible text and tactile routes](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md) support object, diagram, large-print and oral/AAC responses. The [offline ratio lab](ratio-lab.html) shows equivalent ratios and fixed-total splits with complete text feedback and a paper equivalent. No account, internet connection, purchase or personal data is needed. Its interactivity is optional; the maths target remains the same on paper.

This starter totals **4 hours 10 minutes**, so coverage is partial.
