# Source, construction and rights ledger

**Checked 29 September 2026.** The official [QCAA Specialist Mathematics General senior syllabus 2025 v1.4](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/downloads/senior-qce/syllabuses/snr_maths_specialist_25_syll.pdf), March 2026, is the sole external curriculum authority used here. The [QCAA subject page](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior/senior-subjects/syllabuses/mathematics/specialist-mathematics) displayed v1.4 at review. Printed p 4 gives 55 hours per unit; p 15 names Unit 1 and its five topics; pp 16–17 give Topic 1's two subtopics and 4/8-hour allocations. The formulas in this pack are applied to original finite examples and checked by independent region/tree enumerations, not borrowed exercises.

**Audit method.** Two-set answers use both inclusion–exclusion and four disjoint regions. Three-set answers use both formula and seven disjoint regions. Addition cases declare disjoint branches. Multiplication cases require every first-stage choice to pair with each second-stage choice; otherwise the product would be invalid. The exact integer calculations are independently re-run in [verify_pack.py](verify_pack.py). The script catches numeric drift, not learner experience or all possible mathematical ambiguities.

**Culture and language boundary.** Fictional labels avoid depicting a real community or making an empirical claim. We do not invent First Nations statistical data, language translations or cultural examples. Any local example must have its source, interpretation and permission checked with the relevant community and education setting. Read-aloud, tactile and quiet-text access do not sort learners by diagnosis or assert a fixed “learning style.”
