# Full text alternatives for the three A4 SVG aids

These files are original vector art with embedded SVG titles/descriptions. All information is repeated here in selectable text. Print the SVG at A4 landscape, use the derived PNG preview, or use this text without a graphic. Shape and colour are not needed to solve any task. There are no embedded font files or external images. The completed table and annotated scatterplot are for display **after** first learner attempts at those questions.

## [Two-voice map](text-conversation.svg)

Title: “One public issue. Two voices.” The left panel: **Text A, Night Desk** proposes a trial of two later evenings weekly for six weeks. It contrasts an “Open to everyone” promise with a door closing before all could arrive; it asks who could use a free quiet space after five. The centre panel: **Text B, Mara** conditionally supports a trial but asks about the last bus and fair staffing; it asks who can get home. The right panel: **Still to decide** asks which hours work, what staffing costs, and who is missing from available information. End message: ask, measure and revise. Read the full original texts before judging either voice. All details are fictional.

Title: “Which room choice, within each session?” This invented table counts **visits**, not unique people. Morning: quiet 12, group 8, total 20. Afternoon: quiet 6, group 14, total 20. Column totals: quiet 18, group 22, grand total 40. Row percentages: morning quiet 12/20 = 60%; afternoon quiet 6/20 = 30%; difference 30 **percentage points**. The data alone cannot establish why the difference exists.

Title: “Six weekends, six paired observations.” Horizontal x-axis is later-opening hours from 0 to 6. Vertical y-axis is visits during those hours from 0 to 20. Six points, in x order: (1,8), (2,10), (3,9), (4,14), (5,13), (6,16). The pattern is positive, roughly linear and strong but not perfect; *r* ≈ +0.919. There is no causal claim. Each pair represents an invented weekend. The plotted dots are teal circles with white outlines; their exact coordinates are available here and in the data card.
