# Year 2 supplementary fortnight · Science, HASS, HPE and The Arts

**Draft for Australian school review · 29 September 2026.** Forty optional, standalone **12-minute** blocks for Weeks 1–2: ten Science, ten HASS, ten HPE and ten Arts (two each in Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music and Visual Arts). Each block has a 2-minute notice, 7-minute try/make and 3-minute show. These are additions to the [Year 2 opening fortnight](../../../term-1/weeks-01-02/README.md), not a whole timetable or a full subject allocation. Do not treat completion of these cards as a Year 2 achievement-standard judgment.

**Start in five minutes:** Select one block and read its preparation line and actual code boundary. Print or open only its learner card and blank aid; keep the `ASSESSMENT.md` sheet teacher-side. Offer a paper/tactile or adult-read route and let the learner choose a private response. Run the three phases, record their exact action/explanation and what support was used, then choose the specified next move. Every block has a no-purchase home route that avoids required family disclosure. The complete [text alternatives](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md) work without a visual diagram or PDF reader.

**Evidence boundary:** A drawing of a sound source does not show heard sound or vibration. An invented HASS map does not show actual local geography; a typewriter source says what that tool did, not what every family owned. A tabletop HPE plan does not show bodily movement or cooperation that did not happen. A paper Media Arts storyboard does not demonstrate media-technology use, and a silent beat card does not show musical listening/playing. Teacher notes spell out what each route can and cannot show. Never use invented voices or symbols as claims about real First Nations Country/Place, languages or art.

**Australian first:** The [exact Australian Curriculum v9 code crosswalk](CURRICULUM-CROSSWALK.md) comes from the pinned official workbook import, with Year 2 Science/HASS and official Years 1–2 band HPE/Arts descriptions. Queensland's [ACiQ v9 page](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9) is a local implementation entry point; a school must still check its current state or territory syllabus, calendar, sequence and policies. HASS local significance and First Nations local Country/Place content are deliberately deferred until legitimate local sources and authority are in place. This pack does not claim full national or state coverage.

**Safety and privacy:** Supervise all real investigations and movement. Use gentle sound only with consent; no near-ear sound, sharp cutting, wildlife, Sun viewing, heavy loads, physical contact, racing, filmed pupils or uploaded work. For a real safety disclosure, follow school safeguarding procedure. Cards never ask for a child's household, address, identity, access needs or personal history. No account, child-data service, audio asset, third-party illustration or translation is required.
