# Full text and tactile route for the blank decision mat

The PDF/SVG is an optional A4 page with **six large boxes in order**. Nothing depends on colour, an icon or a tiny mark. A teacher may use six numbered pieces of plain paper, six tactile cards, a text document with the headings below, or a speech/AAC sequence. Let the learner direct an adult's placement if needed; record who selected the factors and explanation. Do not require writing speed, hand strength, vision or spoken English to establish the multiplication and source reasoning targets.

1. **Chosen fictional option and exact source row.** Write or say book swap, games meet, garden model, mini museum or a clearly labelled revision. State the Source A equal-group count and cards-per-group count.
2. **What the source says and cannot tell.** Give one exact source fact, then one unknown such as actual visitor preference, real cost or long-term usefulness. The unsigned flyer is a claim to test, not evidence.
3. **Estimate first.** Name both factors, a nearby easy pair, an approximate total and whether rounding was up or down. An estimate near the 900 limit prompts an exact calculation.
4. **Exact product.** Show groups × cards per group = total **cards**. Explain a partition, grid, inverse fact or other inspectable efficient route. Keep place value visible.
5. **Compare with 900.** Is the exact total ≤900? By how many cards? Add another *possible* viewpoint without inventing a survey or claiming actual access success.
6. **Recommendation, limit, next question and revision.** Give a short bounded choice, then what remains unknown. Preserve the first version and label one later change. A proposed change in a factor makes a new plan, not a new answer to the original calculation.

For a tactile build, use six large numbered strips or tiles placed top to bottom. Put 900 as a separate large reference card. Use broad counters or equal group cards, not small loose pieces where they are unsafe.
