# Exact text alternatives to the print aids

The PDFs and SVGs are visual print aids. This page gives the same task information as selectable text. It can be enlarged, read by a screen reader, sent to a braille workflow or copied into a learner's chosen layout. The task is reasoning, not seeing the drawing.

## Decimal line

Line starts at **1.230** and ends at **1.260**. Seven evenly spaced labelled ticks, left to right: `1.230`, `1.235`, `1.240`, `1.245`, `1.250`, `1.255`, `1.260`. Each step is **0.005**. Task: mark `1.232` between `1.230` and `1.235` and mark `1.253` between `1.250` and `1.255`. `1.253` is closer to `1.255` because distances are `0.002` and `0.003`. Four blank place columns have headings `ones | tenths | hundredths | thousandths`. Example `1.235` puts `1 | 2 | 3 | 5`. Example `1.205` puts `1 | 2 | 0 | 5`.

## Factor array

The visual is a rectangle of **6 rows and 6 columns**, representing 36 tiles. Task: rearrange or describe the same total into all unordered row/column pairs. Answer pairs: `1×36`, `2×18`, `3×12`, `4×9`, `6×6`. There are five blank lines for recording them. Further question: “Can five equal whole-book boxes use all 36?” Answer: no; five groups of seven use 35 and leave one. Final reminder: arithmetic possibility must also be checked against box capacity and availability.

## Claim/evidence mat

Four blank boxes, in this reading order: `1 My bounded claim`; `2 Exact evidence and source`; `3 What this cannot settle`; `4 One next question or action`. Final check: Do words such as `everyone`, `always` or `proves` go beyond the source? A learner may use four spoken or tactile cards with the same labels. Do not score drawing or box navigation as English reasoning if access to the format is the barrier.
