# Year 6 opening sequence — source and quality record

**Version:** v0.2, 29 September 2026. This is an auditable **document and mechanical check**, not classroom validation, state syllabus approval, a translation certificate or an educator sign-off. Re-run [the verifier](verify_pack.py) after any edit, then regenerate/check [hash manifests](manifest.sha256). The [Weeks 3–4 English](english/term-1/weeks-03-04/SOURCES-AND-REVIEW.md), [mathematics](mathematics/term-1/weeks-03-04/SOURCES-AND-REVIEW.md), [integrated inquiry](integrated/term-1/weeks-03-04/SOURCE-AND-RIGHTS.md) and [five-area](supplementary/term-1/weeks-03-04/SOURCE-AND-RIGHTS.md) ledgers document their additional primary sources and limits.

## Primary sources and exact use

| Source | Claim supported here | Boundary |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [ACARA Australian Curriculum v9 downloads](https://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au/downloads), official workbook retrieved 29 September 2026, SHA-256 `db446882d2c00cf7c085a03e250e2442fda6c44011fc114680c46c1dc7a822c3` | The exact Year 6 content codes and description scope, including integer locations/coordinates, four quadrants, source/bias/visual meaning, consumer choices and Sun–Earth motions. | The 40-week order and all lessons are original teaching choices. A code association does not prove full achievement. |
| [ACARA copyright and terms](https://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au/copyright-and-terms-of-use) | ACARA website material is generally CC BY 4.0 unless excluded; logos, photos, videos, teaching-support resources and some third-party works have separate limits; attribution and non-endorsement apply. | No excluded ACARA work sample, logo or photo is embedded. Original content has its own CC BY 4.0 grant. |
| [QCAA ACiQ v9](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9) | Queensland entry point for locally adopted curriculum checking. | Schools in every jurisdiction must check their own authority and calendar. |
| [AERO explicit instruction practice guide](https://www.edresearch.edu.au/guides-resources/practice-guides/explicit-instruction-practice-guide-full-publication) | Explicit model, guided practice and learner-response checks in the opening scripts. | AERO has not reviewed or trialled this pack. |
| [ACCC unit-pricing code guidance](https://www.accc.gov.au/business/industry-codes/unit-pricing-code) | Standard-unit pricing can aid comparison of listed price. | The notebook/pass data are wholly fictional; we make no claim about any actual retail offer or legal compliance. |
| [ACCC guidance on false or misleading claims](https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/advertising-and-promotions/false-or-misleading-claims) | Broad vague claims and inaccurate/unfair comparisons deserve scrutiny. | Children evaluate evidence in fabricated cards, not adjudicate real adverts. |
| [NASA Earth facts](https://science.nasa.gov/earth/facts/), [seasons explanation](https://science.nasa.gov/helio-and-you-seasons-on-earth-mars-and-beyond/), [day-length discussion](https://science.nasa.gov/earth/earth-observatory/an-epic-view-of-the-seasons/), [NASA heliosphere learning book](https://assets.science.nasa.gov/content/dam/science/hpd/heat/heat-pdfs/2026_Journey%20Through%20the%20Heliosphere_E-Book.pdf) | Approximately 23.4° axial tilt measured from the direction perpendicular to the orbit plane, daily rotation, yearly revolution, opposite hemisphere seasonal orientation and qualitative longer daylight when tilted toward Sun. | NASA Earth facts uses ambiguous wording about the reference plane; the learning book defines the angle. Original two-position schematic is not to scale, does not calculate local sunrise or copy a NASA graphic. |

## Curriculum-code audit

All `AC9...` code tokens in the Year 6 tree matched a `content_description` in the pinned canonical import `products/curriculum-studio/data/frameworks/acara-v9.json`: **116 distinct codes, 68 at Year 6 and 48 at the official Years 5 and 6 band, 0 invalid or wrong-level tokens.** The map includes broad codes for unauthored **Weeks 5–40**. A code match is an exact-reference check, not proof that its whole description or achievement standard was taught. The Weeks 3–4 packs provide exact wording and workbook rows in their own crosswalks; conditional evidence is marked as such.

| Area | Distinct exact code tokens in this tree | Detail |
| --- | --- | --- |
| English | 20 | Year 6; the map has more codes than the currently authored lessons. |
| Mathematics | 24 | Year 6; the map has more codes than the currently authored lessons. |
| HASS | 13 | Year 6; includes conditional short-block links. |
| Science | 11 | Year 6; models are partial and equipment dependent. |
| HPE | 15 | Years 5 and 6 band; short blocks do not establish whole-area coverage. |
| Technologies | 14 | Years 5 and 6 band; a plan or trace is recorded separately from a built/running product. |
| The Arts | 19 | Years 5 and 6 band; observed making/performance is required where specified. |

## Mechanical and worked-content checks

- Weeks 1–40 appear once in order; Weeks 5–40 are **plan only**.
- Mathematics and English have **20 daily 25-minute lessons each** through Week 4. Integrated inquiry has **20 daily 35-minute sessions** through Week 4. Weeks 3–4 add **50 optional 12-minute blocks** across Science, HASS, HPE, Technologies and The Arts; these are supplements, not a full timetable.
- All local file links and Markdown heading anchors resolve. XML parsing succeeds for original SVGs. The opening four SVGs have PNG previews; the later seventeen SVGs have A4 PDFs and complete text alternatives, with local subpack verification and visual inspection recorded in the relevant run-throughs. The fixed-scale opening number line avoids ambiguous spacing in proportional text fonts.
- The [repeatable verifier](verify_pack.py) checks code level, links/anchors, opening daily counts/timing, SVG parsing, rendered pairs, the pinned workbook digest and complete root/opening hash manifests, then runs all four Weeks 3–4 subpack verifiers. The subpacks check their own exact official rows, days, routes, checks, assets and hashes.
- Mathematical keys recomputed: -4+7=+3; +2−5=-3; Card 13 (-3,2)→(2,-1); Card 14 (2,-4)→(-2,2); Card 15 (-1,-2)→(2,0); Card 16 (0,4)→(-2,-2). Axis points are explicitly **not** in a quadrant.
- English fictional arithmetic recomputed: $6/60=$0.10 per sheet; $8/100=$0.08; Pass X $14/7=$2.00 per entry; Y $18/10=$1.80. Lower unit cost is never equated with the lowest upfront price or a universal recommendation. The “everyone” claim is labelled unproven, not ruled unlawful. Card D is held back for transfer.
- Science guide separates rotation (~day), revolution (~year) and tilt (seasonal day-length pattern). The axis arrows in the original two-position diagram stay parallel. It rejects a distance-only account of opposite hemisphere seasons, labels approximate figures, and invents no local sunrise or weather observation.

## Human review gates

An experienced Year 6 teacher should trial feasibility with the adopted local syllabus and student evidence. Accessibility/EAL/D reviewers should check text access and response routes. A science reviewer should inspect model language and any optional demonstration, including enclosed low-voltage circuit safety. The school should follow cultural protocols before adding local Country/Place or First Nations knowledge; none is invented here. No translations are supplied or certified. Financial examples must stay fictional unless real, current source prices and conditions are verified. Keep student assessment records private. None of this sequence establishes complete Year 6 coverage or student attainment.
