# Year 6 choice menu · Days 11–20

Your teacher offers optional 12-minute subject blocks. You can **try or make**, **arrange/draw**, or **explain/dictate** as the task allows. Switch routes when helpful. A plan is useful, but it is different from doing a movement, producing an artwork or running a program. Choose a private willing audience if you prefer. Use the [text versions of the mats](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md) if the print layout is not useful. None of these activities needs your real address, password, political view, health information, family history or public upload.

## Day 11
- **Science:** Plan a fair shade/soil-moisture comparison; name what changes, what is measured and what stays equal.
- **HASS:** Sort fictional service issues by federal, state/territory or local first contact. Where might levels cooperate?
- **HPE:** Try two safe target layouts. Did one variable change your own result?
- **Technologies:** Design a reading-corner sign that works beyond colour and looks.
- **Dance:** Perform a four-count delayed entrance with a partner. What idea did the timing carry?

## Day 12
- **Science:** Compare growth in an *invented* table. What can you conclude, and what condition was not recorded?
- **HASS:** Read a fictional dated agenda and unsigned post. Has a closure been decided or only proposed?
- **HPE:** Use a familiar strategy in two different tabletop games. What needed adapting?
- **Technologies:** Make and test your sign with a willing viewer from a marked point.
- **Dance:** Keep the phrase but change its energy. What difference can a willing viewer actually see?

## Day 13
- **Science:** Stir a small safe salt portion in a closed clear cup. What did you see? What did you *not* prove?
- **HASS:** Order four Federation sequence cards; name a voice the brief sequence leaves out.
- **HPE:** Rewrite the fictional “boys build, girls organise” poster so roles are open by interest and skill.
- **Technologies:** Compare fictional sign materials without guessing their lifetime impacts.
- **Drama:** Enact a scene where two people have different schedule information; find the turning point.

## Day 14
- **Science:** Compare an illustrated rusting object with yesterday’s dissolving observation. Which is primary or secondary evidence?
- **HASS:** Compare a class club’s rules with Australia’s Constitution as a limited analogy.
- **HPE:** Rehearse a respectful pause after a changed group plan; no personal story needed.
- **Technologies:** Plan who will research, make and test a sign revision.
- **Drama:** Perform a scene twice with the pause in a different place; what changed for the audience?

## Day 15
- **Science, HASS, HPE or Technologies:** Complete the chosen fresh [Check A](ASSESSMENT.md). Your teacher holds the answer guidance.
- **Media Arts:** Produce two different original notice layouts carrying the same fictional meeting details; then do Arts A.

## Day 16
- **Science:** If an approved enclosed low-voltage kit is ready, test an open/closed LED circuit. Otherwise trace the paper model and label it as a model.
- **HASS:** Use an approved atlas to locate Australia in relation to Indonesia, Japan and India; avoid treating Asia as one culture.
- **HPE:** Practise asking before sharing another person’s work, and respecting no or changed consent.
- **Digital Technologies:** Route a fictional message through device and network cards; name a possible failure point.
- **Media Arts:** Present one notice privately or to a willing peer; revise a choice that made it confusing.

## Day 17
- **Science:** Test foil and dry plastic with an approved low-voltage circuit, or write predictions marked untested.
- **HASS:** Trace an *invented* book’s possible cross-country journey and name evidence you would need about its effects.
- **HPE:** Compare a fictional influencer claim with a school-approved guide by maker, purpose and evidence.
- **Digital Technologies:** Design a lost-property sorting algorithm with if/else and repeat, including an “unknown” case.
- **Music:** Create and sound an eight-beat repeated pattern; the optional [cue](audio/eight-beat-cue.wav) has a [text alternative](audio/TEXT-ALTERNATIVE.md).

## Day 18
- **Science:** Repair an unfair plant comparison with two confounded conditions. What later measurements would be needed?
- **HASS:** Evaluate a fictional survey that did not ask several affected groups; do not guess their views.
- **HPE:** Negotiate, try and revise a no-elimination team rule.
- **Digital Technologies:** Sketch a resource-finder screen needing only topic/format, not an address or birthday.
- **Music:** Perform your pattern with one element changed. What could a listener hear?

## Day 19
- **Science:** Recommend what evidence a fictional garden would need before adding shade cloth.
- **HASS:** Decide which authority to ask about a fictional path, keeping away from floodwater.
- **HPE:** Plan an accessible outdoor activity; try a short safe route only if teacher approves and record whether it happened.
- **Digital Technologies:** Build, **run** and change a visual three-question quiz in an approved workspace; label a paper trace `plan only`.
- **Visual Arts:** Make an original wordless classroom symbol and test how one willing viewer reads it.

## Day 20
- **Science, HASS, HPE or Technologies:** Complete the chosen fresh [Check B](ASSESSMENT.md).
- **Visual Arts:** Revise, document and present the original symbol to a willing viewer; then complete Arts B.

## Optional home invitation

Notice a useful sign, question a public source’s maker, compare two safe ways to arrange objects, or describe a repeated rhythm. Explain, sketch or demonstrate with things already available. No purchase, online account, outdoor risk or family disclosure is needed. Home invitations are optional; they are not used to infer what a family owns or can do.
