# Year 7 optional choice menu · Days 11–20

Your teacher may offer one or more 12-minute subject blocks. You can try, make, arrange, draw, speak, sign, type or use AAC, as the task allows. A plan is useful evidence of thinking; it differs from doing a movement, making art or running a program. You may choose a private willing audience. No real identity, finances, password, health detail, political belief or public upload is needed. [Print aids have text/tactile versions](print/TEXT-ALTERNATIVES.md).

## Day 11
- **Science:** Model a single type and a mixture with paper counters. What does the model leave out?
- **HASS Geography:** Trace water through a *fictional* catchment. What real data would you need?
- **HPE:** Try two comfortable target routes and change one strategy.
- **Technologies:** Sketch two light-book rests for a named user and choose a testable criterion.
- **Dance:** Echo a four-count gesture but change one element, then actually perform it.

## Day 12
- **Science:** Filter a teacher-approved clean sand-water mixture; record what passes and stays.
- **HASS Geography:** Compare two *invented* neighbourhood grids and ask what different users need.
- **HPE:** Negotiate and test a more inclusive scoring rule in a no-elimination game.
- **Technologies:** Make and test a folded-card support low over a soft landing.
- **Dance:** Rehearse one change and perform to a willing viewer; ask what they observed.

## Day 13
- **Science:** Test how direction of a gentle force changes a toy cart’s motion.
- **HASS History:** Use a sourced museum summary about Nile farming; name why it is secondary.
- **HPE:** Analyse a fictional “everyone must train” post without sharing your own activity.
- **Technologies:** Compare fictional book-rest materials and mark missing sustainability evidence.
- **Drama:** Enact an invented message mix-up and change a character’s decision.

## Day 14
- **Science:** Build a *fictional* meadow food web; predict possible effects when a plant link changes.
- **HASS History:** Reject an unsupported “ancient token” claim about a classroom-made prop.
- **HPE:** Practise asking before using a fictional peer’s voice recording and respecting no.
- **Technologies:** Revise one weak book-rest joint and repeat the same test if ready.
- **Drama:** Perform two versions of a short scene from different perspectives.

## Day 15
- **Science, HASS, HPE or Technologies:** Do the fresh [Check A](ASSESSMENT.md) for the subject your teacher offers.
- **Media Arts:** Produce two original frames for a fictional room-change notice, then do Arts A.

## Day 16
- **Science:** Find an anomaly in *invented* filtration results; do not erase it without a method note.
- **HASS Civics:** Match simplified Parliament, executive and judiciary functions using a sourced summary.
- **HPE:** Plan practical support for a fictional new group member without labelling them.
- **Digital Technologies:** Decode a 4×4 black-and-white grid from 0/1 using an agreed order.
- **Media Arts:** Present a notice privately, hear one question and revise a misleading emphasis.

## Day 17
- **Science:** Improve a particle diagram by showing motion; state what dots cannot measure.
- **HASS Civics:** Draft a respectful argument about a fictional quiet-space proposal, fairly stating two views.
- **HPE:** Spot pressure in a fictional group message and practise a respectful refusal/help route.
- **Digital Technologies:** Trace nested if/else choices for fictional room requests; fix an unhandled case.
- **Music:** Compose, mark and **sound** an original two-layer eight-beat pattern; an optional [cue](audio/layered-eight-beat.wav) has a [text/tactile alternative](audio/TEXT-ALTERNATIVE.md).

## Day 18
- **Science:** Plan a fairer toy-cart test of mass and motion; label whether a test actually ran.
- **HASS Economics:** Compare invented repair, delivery and stationery businesses by goods, services and questions.
- **HPE:** Lead a cooperative target task by inviting input, rotating roles and trying a revision.
- **Digital Technologies:** Redesign a paper room-finder screen with only the data its task needs.
- **Music:** Perform original and revised rhythms with one audible change.

## Day 19
- **Science:** Respond cautiously to a fictional garden-removal proposal based on a model card.
- **HASS Economics:** Question a fictional “guaranteed forever” flyer using official consumer information; no real purchase.
- **HPE:** Plan a community-space activity; outdoor participation counts only if an approved safe route actually happens.
- **Digital Technologies:** In an approved offline Python setting, run and debug the [original starter](code/route_choice.py). A paper trace is labelled `plan only`.
- **Visual Arts:** Make a small original artwork using purposeful empty space.

## Day 20
- **Science, HASS, HPE or Technologies:** Do the fresh [Check B](ASSESSMENT.md) for the offered subject.
- **Visual Arts:** Revise and present an artwork privately or to a willing viewer, then do Arts B.

## Optional home invitations

Notice a map’s missing scale, a respectful question, a safe push/pull, a repairable design or repeated sound. Explain or sketch using what is already available. There is no purchase, child data collection, cultural object collection, risky experiment or mandatory device task at home.
