# Complete text and tactile routes for three A4 aids

The original [equivalence/evidence](equivalence-evidence.svg), [hybrid source](hybrid-source-map.svg) and [line/meaning](line-meaning.svg) sheets each have a same-name PDF. This page gives **all printed prompts, values and meaningful spatial order**; it is more than image alt text. Enlarge, read aloud exactly, create Braille locally, use AAC labels or build the tactile version with paper cards. Colour groups sections but conveys no unique answer. Check the resulting format with the actual learner; these aids have not been validated across assistive technologies.

## Equivalence and evidence aid

Title: **Same paper model, different form.** Instruction: **Read every part before deciding what the claim can reach.** Sections follow top to bottom:

1. **TWO WORDINGS OF ONE STATED RULE:** `12 + 18n + 12 = 24 + 18n`. The 12s are left and right margins; `18n` is all paper-panel widths. Both are centimetres **in the paper design note**.
2. **SOURCE EXAMPLE:** At `n = 4`, `24 + 18 × 4 = 96 cm`. The **drawn** rail is 96 cm. **No physical rail was tested.**
3. **CLAIM / REACH / LIMIT:** Three blank response lines: **What the model supports**; **What it cannot establish**; **One next test**.

Footer: **Keep MODEL and REAL evidence visibly separate.** **The word “fit” needs its source and conditions.** The top equality does not imply real clips, gaps or wall dimensions were measured.

**Tactile build:** Put three labelled strips LEFT MARGIN `12`, PANEL GROUP `18n`, RIGHT MARGIN `12` in a row. Move the two margin strips together under a `24` card while the panel strip stays in place. Use a separate raised `DRAWN RAIL 96` card and another `REAL SITE UNKNOWN` card. Learners can place evidence and unknown cards under distinct headings and dictate the exact words they choose.

## Hybrid source map

Title: **A headline beside its source.** Instruction: **Read the invitation, the model and the limit separately.** Four large numbered boxes run vertically:

1. **HEADLINE / PROMISE:** What does a reader expect? Quote the exact words. One blank line.
2. **TECHNICAL LINE:** What unit, variable and condition are actually stated? One blank line.
3. **SUPPORTED RESULT:** Name the model and cite one calculation or phrase. One blank line.
4. **LIMIT + NEXT QUESTION:** What has not been checked for a real reader? One blank line.

Footer prompts: **Reader test: can someone identify the source and scope?** **A confident headline is not a second measurement.** The aid works for a fictional display caption, game notice or time-slot post, but evidence must come from the actual supplied source for that task.

**Tactile build:** Four cards in order with raised numbers 1–4 or one to four notches. A learner places an exact quotation strip beside HEADLINE, a source-unit strip beside TECHNICAL LINE, a narrow conclusion under SUPPORTED RESULT and a question under LIMIT. A partner may move cards as directed; do not choose the claims for the learner.

## Line and meaning aid

Title: **One line, two kinds of meaning.** Instruction: **Use exact words; different supported readings can stand.** Three sections from top to bottom:

1. **LITERAL LINE IN A MODEL:** A drawn rail or paper margin can be measured. Blank **Source detail** line.
2. **LINE AS IMAGE / VIEWPOINT:** Story example: an edge can become an invitation. Poem example: a line can look like a gate or sky. Blank **Exact phrase and possible effect** line. These are readings of invented literature, not measured audience responses.
3. **PUNCTUATION CHOICE:** A dash `—` can pause or turn a thought; a semicolon `;` can link close complete ideas. Two blank lines headed **My original two-line choice / revision**.

Footer: **Ask: which word or mark changed the reader's view?** **Do not turn a literary image into a real site claim.** The page deliberately separates literal evidence from interpretive effect.

**Tactile build:** Set down a straight string labelled DRAWN/MEASURED beside a separate wide paper strip labelled STORY/IMAGE; do not imply string length measures a literary effect. Put GATE and SKY word cards beside the story/poem image strip. Provide tactile or spoken DASH and SEMICOLON tokens so a learner can place a chosen mark between two original lines, hear/read the result and revise it.
